We spent 2 nights 3 days romping around the Island, currently in Saint Thomas doing the same for another 3 nights. We rented a car at the airport, took the ferry over to Saint johns, and covered the Island, we had a blast hitting all the beaches. Started up at Waterlemon on the north east end of the island, that was good and bad, I believe it's one of the better places to snorkel so everything else suffered by comparison that day. We stopped at Cinnamon bay on the way down from waterlemon. A friend of ours suggested that we stay there, thank God we didn't, ALL the staff were rude, I wonder if they are govt. employees? They didn't care. We couldn't get out of there fast enough, and that was just to visit. Ok place if you're a camper, don't be deceived by their web site, they only have one set of those concrete bunkers that are sea side... I wasn't interested. You have to hit salt pond before taking off, it's on the south west end of the island. As you can see we were hitting it, I really felt like Star villias gave us a chance to see what it would be like to live amongst the locals, with it being located in a residential area and w/in walking distance to all the action ... I liked it, no ants, great AC. The only bad experience we had was at Zozo's, the manager was rude and unaccommodating.

Star Villa is a fantastic villa for the price. It is so much nicer in person than on the website. It is clean, comfortable, cool in the bedrooms and has all the extras you may need such as beach towels, coolers and a couple of beach chairs. The location is very convenient to Cruz Bay and the view is quite nice even though you are not up high on a hill. I would give it 5 stars if the pool and pool deck were cleaned every day instead of every 2-3 days. I would definately book another stay at this villa.

Once again, a WONDERFUL vacation at STAR VILLA! What more could one ask for? The island is paradise, and the villa is just perfect! Bob and Marlene take such good care of all their properties. Not an easy task on a caribbean island. This villa has all the charm one could hope for on St. John. The views, grounds, decks and pool, the screened in outdoor dining area just off the living room and indoor dining room...it has it all!

We would eat breakfast in every morning in the company of the resident iguana and the numerous hummingbirds. In the evening we would fall asleep to the sounds of the croakies and the breezes in the trees. You cannot see Cruz Bay from this villa, which is why it remains so quiet. Just on the other side of the road is Battery Hill, a 3-4 story condo rental unit. It faces Cruz Bay and the noise (music, ferries, boats etc) is constant, while 100 yards away at Star Villa there is blissful silence allowing you to hear the islands sounds of pure nature.

Marlene and Bob are the perfect hosts. They are right next door to Star Villa in their own beautiful home/office. They are so friendly and interesting. We loved having drinks with them one night while we were there. They are like your "perfect next door neighbor"!

If you're looking for a perfect place to stay in Cruz Bay, this is definitely one of them! We've visited St. John twice & stayed at Star Villa both times - when we go back, this is where we'll be!

Bob & Marlene have quite a few rental units to choose from - everything from a villa with private pool, to a small studio apartment. All are nice & within walking distance of everything in Cruz Bay, so you only need to rent a car to visit other parts of the island. (Note: no matter where you stay on the island or in town, be prepared to walk steep hills!) Bob provides transportation to & from the dock which is close by, answers all your questions, & can direct you to great places to visit & eat!

To my knowledge, all the units have air conditioning, kitchens with the usual appliances, & really nice ocean views!
