Description: Serving Funky Southeast Asian Inspired Cuisine! We serve our food in an unconventional manner, where there are no appetizers or entrees. The food comes out of the kitchen as it is prepared by the Chef. Therefore, we recommend ordering several dishes off of the menu and encourage sharing. Our cuisine is made up of locally sourced ingredients when available. Our flavor profiles are comprised of spice, sweet, sour, salty, and savory. Our cocktails are just as flavorful and as interesting as our cuisine. All of our wines were sourced from Michael Skurnik Wines and were hand-picked by Michael himself. The wines were selected to complement the wide variety of flavors in our cuisine and they were shipped in temperature controlled containers to ensure the integrity of the wines. We believe this style of dining creates an intimate, comfortable, and fun atmosphere. We serve sophisticated dishes in an unpretentious manner. If you are a diner looking for a traditional dining experience, there are lots of other great restaurants on island, come in for a drink and we'll recommend a few.Live well and be happy!

“Fun and different”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

We were here twice on two separate trips. The first time for dinner which was fantastic. Very friendly service. A funky place that is different, in a good way, from other Cruz Bay restaurants. We were sorry the Fatty Crab on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where we live had closed before we got to try it. We came back for drinks with friends on another trip and had fun sitting at the bar with good drinks in hand. I have a rental villa on St. John and recommend this place to my guests. We will certainly go back.

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We went there on a friend's recommendation. It was great. The food was tasty, different in a good way, well prepared. It was served family style, meant for sharing the various dishes. It wasn't all served at once, making the meal like a multi-course banquet.

A real highlight was the Nasi Goreng, Indonesian fried rice. It was delicious. I'd return just to eat it again.

Don't miss this place if you're in Cruz Bay.

“Decisions decisions!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

We had a hard time picking out what to have because it all sounded so delicious!! Ribeye, wahoo, Brussels and bacon and fried chicken for dessert was what we all agreed upon. Great rum and wine section. Love this place for Sunday brunch with Brandon too!! If you have never been, Fatty is a must eatery on your island vaca.

“fun tasty casual family dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

This casual restaurant offers a wide variety of menu items to choose from. They serve
everything like appetizers so it's very easy to share. the pulled pork sliders and the Beef Brisket are very good barbecue style platters. The plates are a medium portion but six or seven could satisfy a group of two to four. The atmosphere is ok just a traditional restaurant but the food and how it's served is what the Fatty Crab is about.

“Frustrating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Just had dinner at the Fatty Crab in St John. It is a family style restaurant and that clearly spell that out. Went there with a party of 6 hungry people after a long day of travel. Ordered 7 dishes at recommendation of waiter. These small dishes then trickle out. Awkward. Rib order comes out with 2 ribs on it. Frustrating. Food was actually pretty good but the small order size for large parties and the fact that they come out one at a time is pretty frustrating. OK fir a oarty of 2 -4 but nit recommended for a larger party who are hungry. I guess it would be a great snack drinking stop but not for a hungry dinner party. Service was fair. Had to ask for several things over and over like plate and utensils.
