We stayed at the Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel in early August for 1 week, the first few days in the Penthouse unit and then in Room 5. Though we are frequent visitors to St. John, we usually stay in a villa and this was our first time staying in downtown Cruz Bay. This great hotel has the perfect location to restaurants, shopping, rental cars, taxi’s and the ferry. The penthouse suite is perfect for longer stays or if you have children. Room 5 was very cozy but still had all you need since you don’t spend much time in your room what with everything to do! There is no parking at the hotel, but if you have a car like we did you can request to park in your rental car company’s parking lot or negotiate a flat rate with Slim Jim parking right behind the hotel.
Woody’s for Happy Hour down the block is a must as well as La Tapas for a nice dinner out.

David and Denise give 110% to make sure your stay is comfortable and you have everything you need. Yes, as previous reviews have stated, the rooms are small but also spotless and clean and dropping the soap in the tiny shower is an adventure as you will probably find yourself having to step out of the shower to retrieve the soap. Still, if you are looking for the perfect location at reasonable rates with owners who are very knowledgeable about St. John and treat you like family, then I highly suggest Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel. I would give this place a 5 star recommendation in a heartbeat except for the fact that I could not get over the scratchy, cheap material towels. In retrospect, I am sure if I had mentioned it to David or Denise they would of rectified this immediately. When we are back in St John, we plan on making a few nights stay in Cruz Bay and now have the perfect place to go!

What a score! Killer location, everything (for the most part) is walkable from the hotel re: shopping, eating and a 30 min walk along a goat path will take you to two killer beaches (Honeymoon and Solomon) which you just might luck out and have all to yourself! Denise and David were great with local knowledge for everything. Spotless, welcoming, the bed was fantastic (pillow top possibly?) and the AC (which I hate, but one must have in the VI's) was soooo quiet, I slept like a dream! The breakfast was simple and just what I needed, loved the baked goods from a wonderful baker just up the hill. Gold star to Denise and David for creating such a great home away from home! It was well worth a few extra dollars! :)

great little hotel. down where all the action is in St. John. you feel like family, they are most helpful with all kind of helpful info, restaurants, snorkeling places, etc. would definitely stay there again, an excellent value.

We stayed in April 2012 after 2 weeks on a sailboat. Our room was a little small but after being on a sailboat it felt huge. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very CLEAN. Our only suggestion is black out blinds. The street light and morning sun made it tough to sleep in. David and Denise are great hosts and are very accommodating. I'm sure if we would have asked, they would have taken care of it immediately.

The location in downtown St John is perfect. Walking distance to restaurants, pubs, shopping and the beach. The Italian restaurant downstairs from the hotel is delicious too.

This was a perfect end to our trip and really enjoyed our stay at CBBH and St John. We look forward to returning soon.
