“Good food & Great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

We ate at the High Tide twice during our week stay in the Virgin Islands. Their drinks were fantastic The friends I was with really enjoyed the BBC's, and my Pina Colada's were great as well. The view from the restaurant is also fantastic, with it being water front. The service was always nice and friendly as well. The food was good as well, but its really hard to compete with the view and the drinks. I would definitely eat here again when back in the Virgin Islands.

“Great Lunch Stop from the water in Cruz Bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

We run a boat charter business, Singing Dog Sailing, from St. John. We typically host very discerning guests and often either do lunch aboard or stop shore-side in the BVI's. Today our trip was modified last minute due to lack of passports and thus a US waters lunch stop was factored into our overhauled plan. We chose to take our honeymooning guests to HIGH TIDE in Cruz Bay for lunch. Beyond being graciously welcomed & acknowledged by the owners, we each delighted in our meals! NOT just another quick lunch stop...The ingredients were SUPER FRESH (the salads are made with St. John's Iconic Josephine's organic greens) and the plates full and appetizing. One guest had a sandwich with breading and remarked it had the perfect amount--not too much and not too little and the taste was excellent. Service was quick, the guests' beers were COLD and the atmosphere was light, comfortable and pretty given its waterfront location. They also did some recent construction upgrades and now have a cool bistro-like view into the kitchen that gives the whole space a fun vibe. We will definitely suggest this stop to guests on future charters. Thanks Kelly & Jimbo for making us and our guests feel welcome and well fed!

“Good food, good drinks, good view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

What more can you ask for? High Tide is a beach bar that serves great food and drinks and a sweet sunset view of Cruz Bay! We made High Tide almost a daily visit while we were on St. John for our honeymoon. Great Painkillers and this was where I was introduced to Baron's West Indian hot sauce, which I am now addicted to! Don't forget to check out the huge display of shirts for souvenirs!

“Terrible service and fraudulent credit card charge”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Went here for burgers and beers one night as a group of 4, during their off-season. There were only about 10 to 15 people there when we arrived yet we sat for about 15 minutes before I finally walked over and grabbed menus and brought them back to our table. Our server finally came around and seemed offended that we were there and actually wanted to order food and drinks. The quality of the food was okay, we had burgers, chicken tenders and onion rings, typical bar food.

Worst part was that when I got home and checked our credit card charge we were charged $184 for a $98 bill. We used our card dozens of time during the trip and had no other problems with the charges matching the receipts. Interesting to see that others have posted similar experiences on TripAdvisor with this place. I called and spoke to a manager who said she would forward my complaint to the owners and they would call me back, but still waiting to hear from them.

Clearly this is fraudulent activity which I will report to my credit card company and the better business bureau. Don't know how you can run a business and think this won't be caught. If you must stop here, I highly recommend paying cash, or better yet, stay away all together. Disgraceful.

“Great Spot, nice views through the trees to Cruz Bay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Jimbo and Kelly do an excellent job with this beach side restaurant. It is an older crowd as times but that can be refreshing from the hoopla down the beach! The food is very good and the service is great! Great musical entertainment on many evenings and a great first stop when you get off the Ferry while someone else gets the rental car! Stop in and say hello....you will be greeted warmly!
