“Great Day on the Water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2010

Husband and I went on Bad Kitty Thanksgiving 2008 and had a great time. From the moment you board, they keep your glass filled with Juice or their awesome Painkillers.

They met us at Red Hook and crossed the channel over to pick up more guests at the Westin dock and then we were on our way to the Baths. Great cruise along Tortola. After arriving at Virgin Gorda, we wound up rushing through and encountering loads of cruise boat visitors. Not Bad Kitty's fault, just be prepared for the crowds. Baths were beautiful, wish we had more time to relax and absorb the atmosphere there but it was off to Cooper Island for lunch.

After a great lunch on Cooper Island, we headed to Norman Island for some snorkeling at the Caves. My husband was a big fan of this area. A lot of fish and coral and you can go into these caves that are over the water. We then headed towards Jost Van Dyke and the Soggy Dollar Bar. This beach has a real laid back vibe and again, I wish I could have spent more time there. They have a kitchen if you want a snack. There are hammocks on the beach and you can just lay there until the Bad Kitty horn wakes you from your late afternoon slumber signaling that it's time to go. Definitely try the Vanilla Painkiller at the Soggy Dollar Bar, it's very good.

This is a great trip for those who want to get just a taste of a few BVIs. Definitely much too rushed to get any true sense of any of the Islands but it was still a great day on the boat. I had more than my fill of painkillers.

“Fun family trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2010

We stayed on St John for the week of Thanksgiving 2009. Two days before Thanksgiving we decided we wanted to do a full day boat tour. I called around to a number of different places and the woman who did the booking for Bad Kitty was the MOST pleasant person to work with. She took time to give me specific details about the trip and answered my questions about children on the tour. She didn't have anyone scheduled for Thanksgiving day, but agreed to put the 5 of us (two adults and 3 children) on the roster for the day, with the agreement that the boat wouldn't go out unless 10 people booked a tour. Less than an hour later she called to tell me she had the 10 required people and also let me know the other party had children too! We ended up going with 20 people, which was a nice number.

The captain and crew were wonderful. I was worried that the kids would be bored during the travel time, but the crew was entertaining and answered so many of our questions! They also attended to our every need - bringing us drinks and food. They were also very helpful in giving us information on passing through British and then US Customs.

Snorkeling near the Norman Island caves was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the baths and plan to go back again when we can stay longer (that was the only downfall - my kids could have spent HOURS at the baths, but we had to keep up with the tour). The swim from the boat to the Soggy Dollar Bar was a lot of fun. The other party had a 4 year old girl and even she was able to handle the swim to shore (with a floatie vest).

Overall it was an excellent day. I highly recommend a tour on the Bad Kitty!

“perfect day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2010

Our excursion on Bad Kitty on March 10 was amazing. The itinerary, service and staff exceeded our expectations. Even the weather unexpectedly cooperated. A word to the wise: Prepare for some tricky hiking if the water is too choppy for swimming into the Baths at Virgin Gorda. It may affect how you dress and what you drag along to the site. Kudos to the crew - Kim, Kevin and Nate. They made the day carefree and special. Indeed, our Bad Kitty excursion is the highlight of our Caribbean vacation.

“Fabulous day!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2010

From start to finish this was by far one of the best days we have spent in the Virgin Islands. We were picked up on the beach at the Westin, motored over to Cruz bay for another pickup and we were on our way. We filled out the necessary paperwork for BVI Customs while enjoying some fruit and mimosa and as soon as we were out of the harbor, this Cat took off. It glides seemlessly over the water. There were only about 20 people on our trip so there was plenty of room to sit outside or inside and strangers became friends in no time.
The itinerary was great - Virgin Gorda, Cooper Island, snorkeling at either Peter Island or Norman Island and then to White Bay at Jost Van Dyke.
We have been to the BVI a number of times, but their beauty never gets old and what a perfect way to see them!

Had a great day on Bad Kitty. Great way to pack a lot into one day - Baths were spectacular, snorkeling was solid and Soggy Dollar is a must do. Captain and crew were very nice, accomodating and well informed. Highly recommended.
