“Highly Recommend”

Jill and I have been to St. John seven times and have eaten at the Chateau Bordeaux on several occasions. I would highly recommend this restaurant and in fact have recommended it to my own son who used it as a venue to propose marriage to his wife.

We have eaten at the Chateau Bordeaux and it has never disappointed. There are a number of fantastic dishes. One of my favorites is the Chilean Sea Bass---very fresh and well prepared.

The view is spectacular. You want a casual meal go to Morgan Mangos. You want a special meal go to Chateau Bordeaux.

“Extraordinary food, interesting island fare, great for lunch, dinner or a swing through.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2011

My husband and I visited Chateau Bordeaux three different times during our honeymoon. Our first visit was on my birthday. We arrived too late to get a window table, but the dinner made up for that momentary disapointment (we had called ahead and requested one). The view is spectacular and we were treated to a rainbow. We stopped by again for lunch and got to sit at the window. The conch chowder was delicious. We visited one last time for a drink one afternoon.

“Wonderful, Romantic Atmosphere and a Great Meal Too!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2011

On our 5th trip back to St John this last week, we really wanted to visit Chateau Bordeaux for sentimental reasons and hoped the reviews from 2008 and 2009 were simply wrong.

We know Chateau Bordeaux can be pricey but the atmosphere and food quality have always made up for it in the past. We certainly were not disappointed when we tried lunch first (after making dinner reservations) and found it to be "island reasonable" price wise and much better than average for food quality, quantity and service. During lunch we learned the recent history of the establishment. Our last visit was in 2005 (the economy out here sucks!) and everything was fine. The restaurant was leased to a chef/manager with french cuisine experience but those folks eventually moved on. The subsequent managers just couldn't pull it off and the reputation slipped. Now the original Chateau Bordeaux owner has stepped back in with her own team and the results speak for themselves. Both of our dinners tasted very good and the portions were large. The wine list is small but matched well to the menu. The deserts were decadent! Service was excellent and everyone was friendly. It was our best dining out experience on St John. We will definitely visit again on our next trip!

“Elegant Caribbean cuisine in a gorgeous setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2011

Impeccable, personalized service by genuinely interested and knowledgeable staff. We were a party of six, and sampled five entrees. Everyone was happy with their choices, which included a pasta dish, a vegetarian eggplant entree, sirloin, chicken and conch dishes. When my friend asked about the conch entree she was spontaneously offered a sample, which was quite good. Excellent wines are available and the Bordeaux salad was delicious. Desserts were wonderful, too. Definitely recommended!

“Great food Great view”

Great food. But the view is even better. We had lunch there! They are also open for dinner a few nights a week. Had a hard time trying something new because it was so good!
