“Wishing we could live there!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2011

Karen and Hank were absolutely amazing hosts on this beautiful island B&B. The room (Captain's Quarters) was very inviting and felt just right. Every morning we woke up to the song of bananakeets (little yellow bellied birds), and had tasty homemade muffins with fruit and coffee. Karen and Hank gave us daily advice for things to do/places to eat on the island, which really helped us to have a great time during our stay. They were wonderful hosts, and we wish we had stayed longer!

My husband and I just came home from a wonderful week long stay on the beautiful island of St. john. We have been to the island many times before but staying at Treetops in Fish Bay was by far the best value and best overall stay we have made thus far.

Our room, the Captain's Quarters, was nicely furnished, spick and span, and stocked with sodas, and chips and salsa. What a hidden gem!

Karen and Hank were wonderful hosts--available if we needed anything but equally respectful of our privacy. Karen does a nice job with the simple yet tasty breakfast spread. Love the coffee choices, too. These two hosts really made us feel like family!!

Even though we have been to the island many times before, Karen and Hank shared many wonderful tips with us that only a local would know.

For those who have never visited St. John, the location of treetops does require renting a car/jeep but Karen and Hank cleared out the (steep) driveway for us so driving wasn't too scary. Remember, stay left!

My husband and I would highly recommend this new bed and breakfast. Bravo to the innkeepers!

My now husband and I came to St. John to elope and stayed the week at Treetops in the Captain's Quarters and I can't imagine a more perfect place to stay for a honeymoon. The drive there is a beautiful adventure, the hosts felt like friends immediately, the room was fantastic and the location was beautiful. We had all the privacy we wanted in a lush setting, and Karen and Hank were so welcoming and helpful they made our stay even better than we had hoped. It's also a photographer's dream with the forest, the birds, the beautiful building and stone walls, and even a surprise iguana! We'll most definitely stay here again when we're on St. John.

The name says it all!! We arrived to find ourselves surrounded by a lush forest of green. Our stay was nothing short of peaceful and relaxing. EXACTLY what we were looking for from the every day turmoils of "real life." We definately found our escape at Treetops as well as new friends, Karen and Hank. We can NOT say enough of their hospitality. This exquisite piece of paradise is tranquil both inside and out. Our room was immaculate, clean and we certainly had no trouble falling asleep after a long day of island play once our heads hit the pillows on the extremely comfortable bed.
We thoroughly enjoyed waking up in the morning and having our coffee on the tiny circular stone patio overlooking a blissful stream that's luxurious sound reminded us that the art of relaxation is something not to be forgotten in the hussle and bussle of traveling.
If you are looking for a B&B with many amenities and attention of a hotel but desire a quiet, and serene atmosphere - you have no choice but to book your stay at Treetops!! enclose you away from it allwe I can NOT say enough for Treetops.
We fell in love with St. John and will certainly be returning and, of course, could think of nowhere else to stay but here.

We stayed at Treetops for 2 nights for a short trip to St John after being on St Thomas for over a week. We usually do a day trip to St John but wanted to explore more of the island. This place is great. It is a short ride out of town but you will feel like you are away from it all. Karen and her husband are friendly and helpful. The room was clean with everything we needed. They even provide a cooler, beach chairs and and beach towels. A few drinks int eh fridge and some munchies.
It is quite except for the early mornig birds that enjoyed their breakfest when the sun came up.
It also got us out of town and to other parts of the island. I recommend a trip to east end and kayaking and snorkleing.
There is no TV so plan on peace and quite.
Karen gave us ideas for places to eat. And the fresh fruit and baked goods were a great way to start our day.
We would stay here again in a minute. Highly recommend Treetops.

Wow, talk about a surprise. I researched for a couple days on where to stay- let's face it, St. John is expensive, but this place was very reasonably priced. I booked this B&B for two nights, and I think we ended staying three. Best thing about this place (of the many?) Karen and Hank. Great people. They are amazing at keeping in contact, great with instructions, and wonderful to have breakfast with. Next best thing? Attention to detail. Everything is well done- the place is immaculate, has a really cool nautical theme, and has everything from a BBQ grill to rum and coke waiting for you in your room. We traveled 10 days in the VIs, and this was by far the best B&B we stayed at.
It is in the treetops, and not on a beach, so be ready for that- but, the hill it's on is surrounded by trees, and there is a really neat creek-thing in the back- beautiful. It is about 10ish minutes from town- fun drive. Room we stayed in had two a/c units, fridge, nice bathroom, etc. The shower is outside, which is really cool- the girl was hesitant at first, but she was sold after the first shower.
Rent a Jeep (you'll need one on St. John), get a bushwacker at Woody's, and stay here. This is where I'll stay from now on- no need to pay $400 a night- and hey, you don't get Karen and Hank at those places!

I booked 2 nights at Treetops, and ended up staying longer, with a great satisfaction of ever encountering such an inspirational, cozy, friendly environment and quarters.

Their website http://stjohnbedandbreakfast.com, explains it truthfully, "home away from home".

Hank and Karen could not have been more hospitable, providing whatever necessary to make our stay the most enjoyable experience.

The majority of Bed and Breakfasts may have a judgment on having children on their property. With my 5 year-old daughter, it couldn't have been more exciting for her, and Hank and Karen welcomed her with warmth.

It was an absolute delight, and inspirational stay at the beautiful Treetops.
