My wife and I spent five nights at Treetops. It is pretty much exactly as advertised on their website. We stayed in the First Mate's Quarters. The property is very nice and well-maintained. Our room was just the right size and had all of the things we needed (including a microwave and fridge). We began each morning with a great breakfast of a hot baked good (it varied from day to day), some fruit, and coffee. Breakfast was also accompanied by Karen's dry wit and great conversation. Treetops is a great, affordable place to stay if you are planning to visit St. John. St. John is very small and Treetops was about a 15 minute drive to Cruz Bay. You can easily drive to any place you would want to see on the island from Treetops. Karen (Hank was up North when we visited) provided tips and suggestions that really helped us with our trip. As the other reviewers mentioned, the house is surrounded by woods and is quite secluded. The balcony on our room was literally at the tree tops. You really feel close to nature (and can hear it too (light sleepers should probably bring ear plugs)). I would definitely recommend Treetops to others. If you want to see St. John and are looking for an affordable place to return to after a day of snorkeling, hiking, or just hanging out on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, then this is the place for you. But while Treetops is extremely comfy, it's more a home than a hotel. If you are seeking a resort with sealed rooms, perfect climate control, room service, valets, and spas, this is probably not the place for you (but you should already know that).
