“Our candidate for best beach on the island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2011

A little further from Cruz Bay than the other North Shore beaches, but worth it. Great sand and water. Not crowded. Faces West instead of North, and the beach is wider than most, so you get lots of sun. Unbelievable views.

“Great all-round beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2011

Francis Bay stays calmer when the ground swells are up than other northshore beaches. The snorkeling is always good and it has a nice, sandy shore. Worth the drive from Cruz Bay.

“Don't miss this spot!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2011

Wonderful snorkeling on either end of the bay. If you snorkel off to the left you will find rocks teaming with many fish. The right end of the bay has good snorkeling and a lot of sea birds rest there.

“Locals choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

Furthest from Cruz Bay of the North Shore Beaches, Francis provides on of the escapes for locals. The beach is excellant white sand, and is the longest beach on the island. Parking is very limited. There are a few picnic tables and grills, and outhouses in the parking area. Snorkelling takes a little effort to get to interesting things at the tips of either end of the bay. The water is nearly always calm and clear here. Rarely crowded due to size of the beach and limited parking spaces. Typically not as breezy as other beaches, which means the noseeums will chase you away earlier in the evening.

“Saw lots of rays”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2011

Nice snorkel over an underwater grassland. Saw rays, turtles and many fish. Walk to the right for the best snorkeling. The trail to the bay is also interesting.
