“Coral Bay - beautiful vacation spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

Coral Bay features stunning views and gorgeous beaches! The family enjoyed snorkeling and the fun restaurants on this side of the island. It's a laid back place, much calmer than Cruz Bay. The beaches are not too crowded either. Driving is challenging as you drive on the other side of the road and the roads are narrow and very steep - 4 wheel drive is a must! Beautiful place to visit

This is our second year staying in Coral Bay and the view, the breeze and eclectic community are so relaxing that we will always choose this location.

“Lovely, much quieter than Cruz Bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

If you are looking for a more relaxed and laid back experience choose Coral Bay over Cruz. There is not much in the way of services but the sleepy charm is wonderful. Donkeys and goats roam the streets, thankfully there are no cruise ships or posh shops and the locals are friendly.

“A whole other island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

It's certainly not St. Thomas, but it also doesn't feel like the rest of St. John. Experientially, or in talking with the locals, this part of the island is a rogue little settlement of pirates and beatniks. It's known for parties and indulgences, and it just seems like a Wild West town. I didn't feel unsafe there, by any means, and we had a delightful time exploring the shopping and dining there. One of my favorite memories was filming a donkey running on the shoulder of the 'highway' alongside our car. Donkeys, all descendants of those used in the sugar mills, run wild on that part of the island, and nobody even notices except us tourists. What a hoot!

“Sheltered water, good/fun food and a relaxed atmosphere.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

Coral Bay doesn't have a lot to do; it's the town of Coral Bay or the water of Coral Bay. You go there to visit Miss Lucy's for food, or a burger/beer at Skinny Legs, or a boat charter like Busy Bee. There are some other places, too. But it's small, and quaint and the view from the surrounding hills is really nice.
