Rhumb Lines has been one of our favorite restaurants for at least ten years. Its pan-Asian influenced menu continues to change and surprise with new creations. It should be noted that at least half of the menu has offerings that are a bit spicy (which is actually why I love it) and may be off-putting for those whose palates are more sedate. What is surprising is the kitchen's willingness to accommodate whenever possible and even offer a limited children's menu. Rhumb Lines has made some of the best lo mein style pasta I've ever enjoyed. Their Caribbean lobster dishes are also excellent if on the expensive side. Entrees range from about $20-35 as I recall. Set in the middle of downtown Cruz Bay in a small shopping complex, this restaurant has no views but offers a fun atmosphere anyway. Its décor, like its menu tends to suggest the south Pacific more than it does the Caribbean, but no matter...Paradise tends to look similar all over the world. Palm trees, twinkling strings of lights, tropical flora, and bamboo accents are everywhere. What's particularly fun is the fact that they had the ingenious idea to use rope swings as bar seating at one end of its bar. For obvious reasons (one too many swingers having had one too many perhaps), they often pull these swings up and use regular bar stools, but we're not shy about asking for a chance to enjoy a drink and take a few pics on these whimsical swings. If it's not too busy, the staff is fun and obliging. Rhumb Lines is where we go when we're looking for a more exotic, sophisticated menu in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. It's not difficult to see why Kenny Chesney chose this place for his ill-fated wedding rehearsal dinner. At least he had a wonderful meal.
