“Wonderful find!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

Stopped in for lunch and was served a fabulous Mahi Mahi sandwich with fries. The beer was cold and the scenic view off the deck was wonderful. The Staff consisted of two folks, server & bartender. Both appeared to be seasoned professionals and our service was excellent - it was 1430 in the afternoon. I can only imagine how "hopping" this place can be during the high season. They have some birds, I can't remember the species, that are beautiful - they are respectful but fun to watch.

“Great local hangout with excellent fresh fish, but closes early.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

The first night we got to St. John, we tried to go to Shipwreck as it is a stone's throw from where we were staying but it was closed by 8pm. The remaining staff apologized for being closed and directed us down the road to Aqua Bistro, which thankfully was still open as we'd arrived to St. John late in the day and were hungry.

When we returned to Shipwreck a few days later, we each chose to eat fresh fish (grouper for me and mahi mahi for my husband). Both were excellent, although I preferred the flakier grouper to the denser flesh of the mahi mahi. Our dishes were well seasoned and well cooked. Prices are definitely not low but are in line with those of many other restaurants on St. John and in Coral Bay in particular - think $22-35 for entrees. We visited on the second to last day before Shipwreck closed for the season, and the one bartender tasked with manning the bar and waiting tables was very attentive and working very hard. It took several minutes to get the check but it certainly wasn't because he was dawdling! We were really impressed by how well he handled ~30 patrons by himself, and appreciated that he'd kindly warned us when we first arrived that a certain table is the favorite hangout of the mosquitoes.

At least when we were there, the clientele was almost exclusively Coral Bay locals, ranging from young groups of friends to older couples and families with children. We were certainly the only tourists there but received a warm welcome and struck up great conversation with the couple next to us at the bar - even receiving an invitation to join a local party down the road after dinner. Although it's now closed for the season, we'll definitely be back for more fresh fish the next time we visit St. John!

“Very good for dinner, but stay away from the burgers at lunch.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

We have eaten here many times over many vacas on St. John. Consistently good in recent years. We focused on pasta dishes and fish and were not disappointed. The only negative is their lunch burger. It tastes like something out of the frozen food section of your supermarket. Go to Skinny Legs for burgers.

“Great fresh fish with an awesome view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We ate here 3 times during our week in Coral Bay. The view is amazing and the atmosphere is just great! We loved the fresh blackened mahi with our rum drinks. When in Coral Bay you can't go wrong here!

“Scenic Route Out of the way restaurant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I wanted to get away from the crowds and do some snorkeling. On our way back it was about to pour down rain so we stopped at Shipwrecks Landing. The food isn't hardly expensive and they have some great burgers. Be sure to try the famous Rum Punch! The views are amazing from this side of the island and can be seen from your table just about anywhere in the place. We went about 2 for lunch and it was fairly empty. We were glad we stopped.
