“Nice experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Enjoyed our meal at La Tapa. Food was very good. Seemed that the restaurant was unprepared for more guests then were expected the night we came. The waiter informed us that there were only two or three left of a number of selections. Luckily, most of us were able to get what we wanted, but two of us ordered the pork belly, only one came out.leaving the other to order a substitute. My snapper selection was very good, moist, and well spiced Though pleasant and accommodating, wait staff could be a little better trained. May have just been an off night. Some additional overhead fans would have been better. All in all we would go again on our next trip to St. John.

“Cruz Bay Delight!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

Our dinner last night was excellent! Our appetizers, duck confit on sweet potato purée with cherries and Gorgonzola Caesar, were creative and delicious. I had the Mahi with carmelized fennel and my husband had the veal. Presentation of each dish was lovely and tasted even better!
The wine list was adequate and prices were typical for St. John.
As another reviewer suggested....get a table in the middle area. On the street is too distracting for dinner. All staff, including our server Andrew, were attentive and pleasant. We've eaten in most restaurants in Cruz Bay and this is definitely the best!

“Excellent food, service and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

We were a little inexperienced with tapas (and some seafood), but this place -- and especially our waitress, I think her name was Alison -- made us very comfortable and answered all our questions without making us feel silly. We had excellent ceviche, scallops and pork belly, and the spicy espresso ice cream in our dessert (can't remember its full name) was to die for. The art and atmosphere were lovely, and and while it's small, it didn't feel crowded or loud. This would count as one of our favorite nicer meals on a vacation.

“Very good Spanish food on St John”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013 via mobile

We come back here each year that we visit St John. Very fun atmosphere with live music tonight. The paella is very good and made with very fresh ingredients. My wife enjoyed the artichoke as well as the Langostine dish

“One of Our Favorite Meals of the Trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We enjoyed La Tapa last week on our trip. The white sangria was awesome, and the food was incredible! We were with another couple and ordered 2 carafes of sangria and 5 or 6 small plates, the pork belly, prawns and dessert was excellent. We were out on the patio, and that was great people watching. Live music was playing and it just had a great atmosphere. Service was great too, and we enjoyed our meal at a leisurely place. A definite must while on St. John!
