“One of the most beautiful places to stay in St. Thomas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We rented a condo in building B from an owner on www.VRBO.com, so our condo was newly renovated and decorated very nicely. It is in the most beautiful location on the island but it is on the opposite side from the port of call or Havensight where all of the nice stores and restaurants are. You have to take a taxi into Red Hook to find a restaurant or market and even then most of the restaurants are bars so it's just glorified bar food.
We went in October 2012 for our honeymoon and had some trouble almost every day we were there. I'm not sure if it was because this is considered their low season but they were doing LOTS of maintenance around the buildings. We were only on half power the first two days we stayed so we had no air conditioner. Needless to say it was HOT!! Also, everyday we were there (we stayed for 6 nights) the cable/satellite TV and Internet would stop working for most of the day.
It is a nice location and seems secure but there are people along the beach that will try to sell you things. If I went back to St. Thomas I would try to stay closer to Havensight or Charlotte Amalie.

We rented from an owner privately on homeaway. Our condo was in building D, which from what others have said is better than A&B because it has a breeze like building E. From D you can see the other islands, have a breeze and see the pool. We had a 2 level room and the owner we rented from kept it up and told us he ordered new furniture that will arrive a few weeks after our departure. The staff~ we encountered really great staff and very rude ones. We paid for a mid week cleaning and she came while my husband & i were at the lobby, my son (15) asked her to return in 1/2 hour as we'd be gone, she told him NO and to go up stairs with my girls and she proceeded to clean..
The resort grounds (for St.Thomas) were very nice. Yes, there are some areas in disrepair but what they upkeep is nice like the beach and pool area. The views are just amazing. the snorkeling outside the condo is pretty good too.
The power company does rolling brown outs so our fridge was out long enough for items to begin melting, but oddly enough some of our lights worked still.
Security roams around asking for room numbers and whatnot but we noticed by evening they were not asking and we saw a large group drive up and start using the pool :( they were not asked what their room was because security was gone.
Wifi is available for free from the reception. We used the desk in the lobby to book a daysail on New Horizons and it was our best day there.
IF you already know about St. Thomas and are just looking for a fine place to stay that has really beautiful views, good snorkeling and are willing to rent on homeaway you will be happy here. but we didn't know that the sand fleas would bite you up so bad, they even got in our room because they come in with even the smallest bits of sand. they do die after one day, so the day we skipped the beach we didn't get chewed up. it was also rainy and i think it made them worse.
we used the dive shop there ~ be ware!! the employees were really nice and helpful but we rented an item that didn't work (flashlight for night snorkel) and when we got back the owner charged us $35 for a light for it.. REALLY?
Just make sure if you rent from an owner you get the full scoop. our guy was great! he arranged for us to use beach chairs all day + have 2 hours of snorkel gear and floats free of additional charge. we got each of those items per person. this was at the dive shop.
we think for st. thomas this was a good choice for beautiful views and snorkeling. it's not average for the islands, it's very good... but compared to other locations it's probably average. honestly what makes it very good was the owner we rented from & the views!
if you go through Exclusive Resort Managment ask for condo D304, even for just 2 it's worth getting something good :)

Room Tip: RENT from a private owner! some condos are supposedly in disrepair! see lots of photos and read revi...

Wonderful resort except, only one little Place to get a coke,, burger. Have to get a car or taxi to take you into Red Hook or to Charlotte Amalie to get food, so stop the grocery store on your way from the airport because the "market" in Red Hook will RAPE you....... Don't see how the locals afford to eat here. The should also supply a golf cart or something to transport guests to the top of the hill to catch the dollar taxi, that is a hard walk, but I will do it to save $8 on a taxi! Needs some TLC. The pool is wonderful, too bad the bar isn't open around it, all boarded up, a shame! Otherwise it was a great place to relax, epically if you don't want to eat or drink

We stayed here in August. We had room A202 which was booked through Travelocity. Our room was minimal but clean and had everything we needed. We loved the beach itself... Amazing snorkeling!! We also used the pool each night and loved the two levels. While there we rented a kayak from the onsite rental place. We spent the entire vacation on this side of the island or in St. John away from the chaos of the city. It is conveniently located to Redhook. There were two grocery stores and tons of restaurants. Best of all the Ferry to St. John was very close!!! Our flight out was early in the morning and upon arrival at the airport we realized my son had left his favorite stuffed animal at the resort. We called them and they shipped him home to us. We are so greatful for that!!! The resort is more like an apt. Complex than a resort and there is no onsite restaurants but if you don't require all the extras this is definitely worth booking!

Stayed at this very beautiful property in August with my family.

The Good:

Property was beautiful, peaceful.
The location was private yet convenient to the shops and ferries in Red Hook
Lots of activities on site
Nice pool as well

The Bad:

The room as dated and the furniture was in okay condition. A bit worn.
The wifi service was slow and tough to use
The staff was at its best indifferent as they were at check-in to outright rude as they were at the "free" breakfast. The woman who was behind the bar could not have been more unpleasant if she was trying to portray a stereo-type of the classic "bad server".

Overall a mixed experience and I probably would return for the right price but I plan to shop around for better alternatives when i vacation here next year.

This place is paradise.
Absolutely beautiful place for a vacation. The condo is completely and tastefully remodelled w/ all emenities. Home away from home. The owner of this property stays constantly in touch w/ the needs of her renters and has local staff on hand to assist in any way needed. The view is spectacular! This is my 2nd trip here to this condo, and in the year between, rather then aging, the condo has been improved upon. It's clean w/ new kitchen and baths. The only thing I could say some might not care for is that the complex itself does not have the pool bar up and running. However, I came for the serenty. If I want a crowded bar to hang around, I can drive to one. I enjoy the quite of the beach. Snorkeling is amazing!!! And swimming w/ the turtles is my personal favorite!
I HIGHLY recommend condo unit 304. The owner definitely shows her pride in the upkeep of her property and happiness of her clients. I can't speak on other units, but this one is a winner!!!!

Room Tip: Unit 304!!!

Where do I start... The beach is amazingly beautiful. However, the resort it self was gross!! We stayed in room C305 and it was a nightmare!! I can't believe how they can even consider putting guest in this room!!! The room was so so so disgusting!! Paint chipping off, leeks in the bathroom and living room, smelled super musty, and to top it all off we got BIT by BEDBUGS!!! Yes, bedbugs!!!!! I'm so disgusted!!!! No joke people. St Thomas, overall, is poorly developed but the people and beaches are wonderful. Coki beach was my ultimate favorite. All I have to say is do your research and stay away from that room!
