“Paridise at Point Pleasant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

We've stayed on different islands and resorts but found Point Pleasant on St Thomas to home for us. We've been coming back for over twelve years and see the same smiling freindly faces each time. From the front desk, Murial or Laurel, or the resort host Willie, even the grounds keepers and maids you can tell thiere is something comfortably special about this place. We LOVE that the villa's and grounds are covered in tropical folage giving you plenty of privacy yet also a feeling of a quiet freindly community.
The amenitys are wonderful: Jack's (best burgers on the island), the three swimming pools, Morning Star charters, free snorkel gear and kayaks. Looking forward to our next return!!!

“Weekend Getaway to Point Pleasant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Stayed at a condo owned unit at Point Pleasant for my birthday weekend end of 2012.
Pros of the property-
Private
Proximity to Coki Beach (its a small beach with the best snorkeling on the island, but has access to Coral World)
Not too far from Red Hook Marina (shops and ferry)
Safe
Great bay/ocean Views from almost any unit
Nice restaurant on site- Jacks Bight
Nice wildlife on the property (Iguanas, lizards, etc.)
Quiet (during the day)
Nice staff on site (they usually only help you if you're in a resort "participating" unit, but help most times anyway)
Located centrally near Sugar Bay and Sapphire Beach

Cons of the property-
WiFi Issues
Water has a stench
Far from Airport- at least 35 mins
MANY barking dogs next to the property as well as NOISY roosters (seems like ALL night and early morning) HARD to get a good nights sleep- NEED ear plugs for sure when staying here.
VERY VERY steep hills- No need to go to the gym- you work out just walking to get a cab or to and from your room. Leave the good shoes home- you will ruin them.
Speaking of ruining shoes, the property can use an asphalt upgrade. Horrible roads/walkways or lack thereof
Be careful as to what unit you stay in, you can be on the top of a hill in a top unit (great views, but HORRIBLE to get to- especially with luggage or after a day of being out).
Cab ONLY comes to the office, not to your unit building.
Property does need some updating. Looks old and dreary.

Otherwise, we enjoyed the privacy of where we stayed in Point Pleasant.
No one looking in on your unit.
Hard to believe this place is about 4 stars. Typical island life though.
St Thomas in general is VERY hilly with high terrain.
Taxi cabes seems to rip you off, but they all work together to some degree with the cost- PER person and if you have a bag (luggage) they charge for that too. The resort works with a few taxidrivers who live close to the resort and are there in 5-8 mins.

Room Tip: Bring WALKING shoes!

“good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

Great location, we can just walk to coki bay, which has great snorkeling spots and not far from red hook ferry either. But the room does not look as nice as it's pictured and there is no wi-fi in the room as it says in the description when we booked online. But overall, it's quiet and convenient.

“a beautiful secluded quiet getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

We went to Point Pleasant on our honeymoon and have been back since. This time we went back with our 2 young sons. We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit way up high on the hill. It had gorgeous views, lots of space and was beautifully appointed. We really enjoyed our time there...it's so quiet and secluded but close to lots of things to do and beautiful beaches.

“Fantastic Week in Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

I wish I could give this place 10 stars!!! We had a fantastic week! We stayed in newly renovated B4, which has the best views... We would wake and watch the turtles feed on the turtle grass, then go to the Private beach (a short walk from our room) and go snorkeling right there! We loved breakfast, lunch,& dinner at Jack's. Everything on the menu AMAZING, my favorite was the breakfast burrito-I have never had a better one! There are 3 pools & each one has different views, we took a short walk to Coral World. The property has a shuttle to assist you down to the main gate to get a taxi, or even a dollar shuttle, a short 2 minute ride into Red Hook. Catch a ferry over to St. John's for the day, enjoy the beach & shops, and of course a sunset dinner. We brought our 5 year old son with us & he had the greatest time!! My son loved all the iguanas just hanging out in the trees and the little lizards roaming around, I asked him waht his favorite was "Swimming with the fish". We cannot wait to go back to Point Pleasant on St. Thomas & most def staying in B4 again!
