We stayed here because the wedding we went for chose this as their location - and also chose the all-inclusive option. After seeing the prices, it appears all-inclusive would be the best deal if it's procured at a good price.
Rooms:
I got to see quite a few rooms and they were all laid out about the same. A few of them had a bit of a must smell but nothing bad. The carpet could use updated, but overall, they were all pleasant and clean - housekeeping did a nice job daily. Although, someone with us mentioned that they keep the doors propped open while cleaning, which could lead to the humidity entering the room. Bottom line is that we were happy with the rooms and had no issues. They had everything we needed, large safe, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, 2 sinks, closet, iron, hair dryer, plenty of drawers, and a bed.
Beach:
The beach is small but able to accomodate all the guests. Those that complain about the rocky beach are blind, I think. There's a perfectly sandy portion to enter the water over by the craft rentals... I bought water socks on reading reviews and never used them. The snorkling off of the beach is pleasant and gives enough fish to see to make you want to explore some more. They have a nice floating island out a ways that is a nice addition.
Pool:
The pool area is very nice with 3 separate pools and 1 hot tub. There are plenty of sunchairs and enough shade to go around. There's also a pool table, snooker, and life-size jenga under the waterfalls.
Bars:
1 lower bar is staffed by usually 2 people and service is prompt and nice. 1 upper bar and casino is too usually staffed by 2 people and is also prompt and efficient. They all serve lots of run drinks and each bartender upstairs has their specialty drink. My favorite was the West-Indies Mojito. There was plenty of area to accommodate everyone that showed up each day.
Food:
Breakfast buffet is delicious and has a large assortment of fruits, cereals, waffles, potatoes, omlets, breads, etc.
Dinner menus are OK sized, but could get old after a week long stay. Each menu had about 8-10 choices for entrees.
Dinner at the Manor House - well, we ate there 3 nights total and 2 out of 3 were excellent. All meals are created fresh, including desserts. 1 night most of our dinners were pretty bad - I chalk this up to who was working in the kitchen, so it seems like the dinners depends on who's working!
Lower resteraunt is tiny and can only accommodate 40 people, so be sure to make reservations. It was pretty good but we only ate there one night.
Outdoor grill was superb each day with enough variety to keep you content. I was never disappointed with the food from the grills. Also freshly cut fruit on-demand is nice.
Staff:
90% of our run-ins with the staff were pleasent with almost no one being in a bad mood or not willing to help. Nearly all of my help came with a huge smile and an overwelming urge to truly be helpful. We were at breakfast one day discussing calling my brother in another room - our waitress heard us and brought over a cordless phone for us to use.
Wedding:
It seemed the wedding planner had everything organized - there was a mix-ups with the hair dresser, but they got it sorted out without a problem.
Extras:
The gym was very nice with plenty of equipment to go around. A nice hardwood portion for yoga, sittups, or whatever else you're into. They have a lot of mats, balls, ropes to go around. Both free weights and combined.
Bumper boats was a ton of fun - 5 bucks for 6 minutes, 9 for 12. More fun after a few drinks ;)
Basketball, tennis, sauna, steam room.
The gift shop isn't over priced for most goods - suntan lotion, t-shirts, knick-nacks, sun glasses, etc.
Free snorkling equipment that you can use either at the resort or take with you on a day trip to, say, St John.
Anyway, we were happy with our stay with just very minor things to worry about. We would stay here again and would do the all-inclusive again.
