“Intimate and Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Bellavista Bed and Breakfast on St. Thomas presents an intimate and excellent experience. Wendy and Doug take genuine interest in their guests and pamper them without being overbearing. They respond to guests' needs promptly and professionally, yet they also allow guests their "space" to relax and refresh. Wendy's breakfasts are delicious and are like lovely little works of art. The guest rooms are exceptionally clean, cute and romantic. The views of the harbor are exquisite. The pool area is quiet, secluded and perfect for stealing some quiet time. Bellavista Bed and Breakfast is top-notch and is not to be missed. Go now !!

From the moment Wendy greets you to the wave good-bye, you will be delighted with this choice. The house is beautiful, the food delicious (and beautiful too!), and the location just great. We were without a car, and made out just fine. A steep walk to town, but only 10 minutes away. Cabs were available easily.

Room Tip: The front room is the biggest with the best view, sometimes called the honeymoon room. We had the P...

The Bellevista has a charming, lively, and tasteful island decor that matches the owners' sunny dispositions. Wendy starts her day preparing a delicious, refreshing , and healthy breakfast, served in a cheerful setting, condusive to the conversation it stimulates among her guests. There's also a table on the shaded porch, for those who would rather a quiet breakfast. She remains on call all day and into the evening to answer all island related questions. She can offer suggestions for your type of beach, restaurant, adventure, trips off island, and even the perfect take home gift. Her knowledge is endless! Plus, her cheerful disposition has given her a stellar reputation among the islands hospitality staff , so she is able to get the best reservations, the most reliable taxi drivers etc. to service her guests. She anticipates everyone's individual needs and follow through immediately, effortlessly, and thoroughly with all requests.
She and Doug keep the property, indoors and out, in pristine condition. The outdoor area is filled with flowering trees and shrubs, (be sure not to miss the hidden hammock!) The common areas are decorated with comfort and lounging in mind, and the individual rooms are delightfully and efficiently decorated. Even though the location of the B&B makes it easily accessable to great beaches, dining, and shopping, the B&B is such a delightful space, you may just choose to do what we did, and take a morning and/or afternoon off from other excursions and lounge around the pool and enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the Bellavista B&B. Staying there was the best lodging experience we've ever had!

The five nights that we stayed at Bellavista were fabulous. Wendy goes above and beyond to make your stay one of the most memorable events ever. If you want to be "pampered", you get it.....If you want your space, you get it.
The house is incredible, the view is breath taking and the food is awesome (and healthy).
We stayed our first two nights in the J'ouvert Garden Room. Whimsical comes to mind when I think of our time there. The small shaded porch feels like your own private getaway. For our last three nights, we were able to move (effortlessly) to the Bambooshay Room. (preplanned because of availability)The room was spacious and the balcony made the room well worth the wait.
Wendy has a wealth of knowledge about St Thomas. She has great ideas and offers as much assistance as needed to make sure you get the most out of your vacation time. She knows the ins/outs of the island, so trust her instinct--she would never steer you in the "wrong" direction.
Doug keeps the outside immaculate. Take a minute to enjoy the hammock. It is off the beaten path but well worth the little up hill climb to have a few minutes of solitude.
The Bellavista provides a great experience that will last for many years. Enjoy the opportunity to meet new friends and have new adventures.

We stayed four nights at this wonderful bed and breakfast and recommend it wholeheartedly for anyone looking for a beautiful and comfortable place to stay with gracious hosts who are extremely helpful and make every effort to make your stay perfect, delicious breakfasts and beautiful views. There is not a negative thing to say. Hope you go and enjoy your visit as much as we did!

Our stay at Bellavista was perfect. We stayed 4 nights and had an opportunity to enjoy 4 gourmet breakfasts, as well as the wonderful company of other guests, and Wendy and her family. The grounds include a small pool, as well as beaufiful flowers/bushes that are frequented by humming birds. You can't imagine the beautiful view from her patio/pool area! Staying in this intimate setting provides a completetly different experience than that of an impersonal and large resort. We loved our mornings where we had an opportunity to mingle with other guests and then set off on our own adventures. We even gathered in the evening with other guests to discuss our days travels and upcoming plans- lots of laughs! If socializing with others doesn't sound appealing than Wendy does offer guests an opportuntiy to eat more privately on one of her patios. You are in the city limits so there are sounds in the evening to inlcude frogs, dogs etc. and then early in the morning church bells and roosters. We grew very fond of the unique blend of sounds and miss our morning wake up call from the roosters. Lastly, my husband left his phone charger and Wendy contacted us and is sending it home at no expense to us. Can you picture that happening at the Marriott? Price cannot be beat and we will most certainly return and strongly recommend a stay with Wendy at the Bellavista!

Wendy is one of the sweetest hosts I've ever met and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. She worked very hard every day to make us delicious, healthy breakfasts, and she did it with a smile. I booked this B & B because of all of the positive reviews, and I agree with them. Thanks, Wendy!
