“Fun and Informative”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2012

My wife and I took the Hassel Island Kayak tour and we really enjoyed it. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the island wildlife, history and culture from the early colonial period up to present day. It was the highlight of our trip to St. Thomas and we would highly recommend it.

“Good exercise with fun and learning.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012 via mobile

Took half day eco tour with Jason on 3-5-12. It was a bit windy but the kayaking was fun and not as strenous as I had expected. The hike to the ruins of Hassel Island was informative and again not overly strenuous. Be sure to have closed toed sandals or tennis shoes for the hike. After the hike we snorkled. Saw some great coral and good variety of fish as well as one sea turtle. Jason was great at identifying the fish for us. Then a short paddle to another beach and a visit to the Creque railway and ship repair. The trip was a great way to spend just a bit mnore than half a day.

“Hassel Island Kayak, Hike and Snorkel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2011

My husband and I just returned from our second trip to St Thomas and we were looking for new adventrues. This was truly one on the most enjoyable challenges we took on. Grey, who was our guide, was very knowledgeable about the past and current history of the island and very tolerant with our paddleing skills. We paddled out to the end of Hassel Island, did some hiking to an old fort and then paddled back around to the other side where we did some very nice snorkeling. It was a delightful 3 hour tour. If you are going on this trip, try to ask for Grey for your guide and I would suggest this only for older teens and adults. It does require good physical condition.

“Best day of our trip...kayaking to Hassell Island!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2010

Frank, our guide, knew the history that was most interesting. He was patient with our questions and showed us the little know things that others would have passed over quickly. He even took time to show us a catapillar eating a local bush and shared the life cycle story of it's poisonous life. It was a strenuous paddle but we stopped several times to hike and see the ruins of several buildings including the old fort. I would recommend anyone who likes to kayak or has thought about trying it to do this trip. You will sleep really great that night from the activity and it will linger in your mind for years to come as a highlight of your trip as well.
