We stayed at Island View Guesthouse during our time on St Thomas and we were so happy with the staff and the hotel. The owners are in the process of major renovations but they've already made a welcoming, comfortable environment for any traveler (at an exceptional value). We stayed in a poolside room which was quaint and cozy with a window A/C and floor fan that both worked wonderfully (a big bonus in the middle of August). Our evenings were often spent in the open air common room relaxing, listening to the radio, chatting with the owners, or having one of "Captain Ron's" famous pina coladas (yum). I've posted some photos of the resort and our room, but if anyone has questions, please feel free to email me: rebekah@trueocean.com. To sum up our experience, after only a few days, I felt like I was staying with family!

Island View Guesthouse

Reviewer: Russ Wehner
Just returned from an 8 day stay at the Island View and really don't know where to begin. My wife and I spent one of the most relaxing, trouble free vacations of our lives at this wonderfully friendly guesthouse. Beth and Ron, the owners live on site and are gracious, friendly, and accessible as are all their staff. Rooms are clean, food is exceptional and the location is great if you have a vehicle. The veranda-- the veranda is a common dining, relaxing, meeting area with one of the greatest views on the island really making this location exceptional. We learned much about island attractions, do's and don'ts form the owners and other guests while spending many truly enjoyable hours on the venanda. If you normally valet park your Bentley this might not be the place for you, but if you appreciate a good clean room with what you need, along with great service, great views, and a relaxing atmosphere, all at a very reasonable price, this is your spot. My wife and I have been fortunate to have traveled extensively and this is one of the few places that I would rate as having exceeded expectations in all areas. I would advise friends that this is the palce to stay.

“Getting Acquainted with the Virgin Islands”

The Island View Guesthouse is the perfect place to begin getting acquainted with the Virgin Islands. Our family was lucky enough to choose this accommodation for the first 3 days of our vacation. Ron and Beth are the best host and hostess and made us feel very comfortable. Ron gave us great tips on getting around town - the best places to eat - finding the coconut man - snorkeling - and driving on the left side of the road. Ron's grilled steaks on the beautiful open air veranda are the perfect end to the day. The view of Charlotte Amalie is spectacular.
Close to the airport - great place to put in for a couple days before adventuring out to St. Johns or other destinations (or to end your trip for a few days.) Nice pool - kids loved it. We fit comfortably (2 adults and 12 and 14 yr old) in one of the delux rooms with a kingsz bed and the inflatable matress.

“Home Away From Home....”

Island View Guesthouse

Jul 13, 2007

I recently stayed at the Island View Guesthouse and could not be more pleased with the service, rooms, abiance, genuinely friendly staff and the most delightful owners, Beth and Ron.
The owners are hands on and make it a point to make sure their guests feel very much at home. When we asked for a taxi for town or a resturant, Ron was right there with keys in hand to take us to our destination. He also makes the best grilled rib eye steak this side of the mainland USA..!! I would truly recommend this venue to friends and family.

While 'stuck' on St Thomas for 7 days as a professional flight crew, we were taken back by the very high rates charged by hotels all over the island. Our contact at the airport suggested a local guesthouse and as a result, we ended up at Island View Guesthouse. This place is amazing! Great view, great food, nothing better than to enjoy a very cold beer or a drink while sitting in a wonderful breeze overlooking Charlotte Amalie and the island's harbor. It's a great feeling to know that you have it better than the folks on the cruise ships pulling in below.
Thanks Ron and Beth for your hospitality, the great snorkeling trip and the awesome food!
