“What a dump!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

I had really hoped to see the fort. It has great history. While you could walk right up to the door it was closed (looked to be permanently), there was trash everywhere, the paint was coming off, and it smelled like urine.

For something the island advertises as a tourist attraction... well I guess it looked nicer than some of the shacks you see around the island. Go somewhere else.

“"Incomplete" (Needs Work)”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

The fort was one of the main things that we had wanted to see in St. Thomas. Unfortunately, when we got there - it was in a state of disrepair, partially surrounded by chain link/with construction apparently going on. The paint DESPERATELY needs to be chipped, patched, sandblasted and REPAINTED. The fort was NOT open for visitors.

“Piece of History, needs renovation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

An awesome piece of history, and very easy to find and see while walking in the area. It could be so much more, sadly they've not been able to raise the necessary funding to preserve this historical gem so that more could enjoy it and learn more about the history of it.

“Somebody Should Donate To Renovate”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Fort Christian desperately needs renovating. There must be some famous person with ties to St. Thomas who can take this on as a project. It is the historic centerpiece of St. Thomas.

“Very cool fort, under renovation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

I understand this has been closed for some time. It was a beautiful fort; you can walk around outside. Lots of nice photo ops. good place to start your self guided walking tour of Charlotte Amalie.
