“Our favorite on St. Thomas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

We first tried Latitude 18 for lunch and loved the wraps and the shark balls! We loved how local the place was, right on the marina and the food was great. We went back for dinner on our last night in St. Thomas and were again very pleased with the food. It was our favorite place while were were on the island. It's not fancy, but it's that perfect mix of island atmosphere and tasty food. The mango daiquiris were awesome as well. It's quite the road to get there, but well worth the trip. (I'd drive it during the day for the first time and follow the signs.)

“Real island atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Fantastic ! If you’re looking for some real laid back island atmosphere with authentic food I can’t recommend this place enough. You’ll need a car or taxi to get here (taxi was $20 for two from Charlotte Amelie) as it’s a wee bit off the beaten track, but you’ll be rewarded if you do so. I had the chicken roti (a Caribbean classic) with a side of plantains – not on the menu but just ask. We also had banana daiquiris which were great and there was a band playing (I didn’t catch their name) who were great and really added to the atmosphere of the place. After dinner we headed into Red Hook for some more drinks and the taxi this time round was only $10. The staff are fantastic and if you’re looking for somewhere that captures the island vibe I’d recommend Latitude – I just wish it wasn’t so far from London.

“On the comeback trail?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

My favorite joint for years until the ownership change of late 2011. I decided to give it another go during a recent visit and am glad I did. The old feeling was back along with some familiar faces on both sides of the bar. Word I got was there has been another shift in ownership and it's been for the better. Service was relaxed and fun. Had a veggie roti on two visits - both enjoyable but the spice level varied wildly from one day to the next. Server suggested Shark Bites appetizer - the table raved. Drinks were cold, food was hot and the band was smokin!
Some new and very comfortable chairs deserve their own round of applause. I noticed one of the previous reviewers claimed pricing was higher than Red Hook averages. Considering the 3 piece live entertainment I'd have to disagree. It's not as inexpensive as it once was but what is. My hat is off to the new management, thank you for your efforts.

“The price was right..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I have not been here in along time. I knew it was under new management/ownership. Three of us went on a Sunday evening. They have only a southern menu on Sundays apparently. For $16 you got a hearty plate of food with 5 or 6 choices of entrees and two of a dozen or more sides plus corn bread or biscuit. The food was very good.
There was live music. They charge a $1/meal for the entertainment.
It was a hot night as the wind was not from the usual direction. Some more ceiling fans are in order. IT WAS HOT!!

Sincerely appreciate all your reviews. However, we don't charge $1 more per meal when the band is playing and never have. We do however charge .50 cents extra per drink when the band is playing as this helps us with the cost of the live entertainment while keeping our prices reasonable. This is something that has been done at Latitude 18 for years. THANK YOU for your continued support

“The New Latitude 18 - Back and better than ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

We just returned from an excellent meal at Latitude 18. The remodel has improved the restaurant without losing that Latitude vibe. The view across the water to Red Hook is beautiful. The new owner/manager Jillian provides a personal touch that made each guest feel welcome. We shared two appetizers a shrimp in garlic sauce and escargot with blue cheese. Chef Wayne (formally of Agave Terrace) prepared an excellent Scallop special this evening. Another in our group had a fork tender steak smothered in a blue cheese sauce. Our server Chanel was attentive and informative. The music by Flipswitch was enjoyable without overpowering conversation. All around a wonderful evening and we'll be returning again and again. We cannot recommend this establishment highly enough.
