“THIS RESTAURANT ROCKS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

My family and I went to this restaurant and the food was excellent. Now we had such short turn arround time, our cruise was there sept 24/12 we went out to do a little bit of shopping and there was lady in a booth (the rasta lady she was so nice mon) out close to the main, and she direct me to this fine place. Now we arrive there and they were not open until 11am. So we waited and waited pass 11am and they were inside getting thing ready. Hey am used to the lateness, am from Jamaica. Soon come mon!!! smile. However, we got in and we had liots of food to eat and we took along with us our new friends from Buffalo new york, they loved the food. Oh is was real (back yard food JAMAICA) and I full-joy every moment. The guy had the music rocking and I felt like I was right in the heart of (MOBAY). Oh one of the guy was from mobay, and we chatt a little. They made us feel welcome and we were well taken care of. Trenchtown Rock , you have the name for a reason, you ROCKS ROCKS AND MORE ROCKS. Thanks for making us feel real welcome and again the food was good. Oh Oh!!! we have oxtail, curry goat and festival and fry plantin and chicken. Sweet! Excellent....

Thanks
ANGIE & PETER

“Come early.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

The first time we went to Trenchtown Rock they were out of a good many things, including their two signature dishes: oxtail stew and goat curry. Also were out of the appetizer I'd ordered. Others in our party ordered jerk chicken and it was fabulous. I was urged to try salt cod and spinach. So I did. It was unsurprisingly salty, but the spinach was deelish. In spite of being out of things the first time, we returned the next day and came much earlier--around noon. The oxtail was great, the conch fritters were very tasty but not loaded with conch, Jerk chicken wings were a big hit as an appetizer. We loved it. Just remember soda refills are NOT free.

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

Just block away from the shopping area on Wilmmelskaft galde in Charlotte is this great little restuarant. I like going to a small place and this was perfect. The food was fresh and amazing. The price was good to. This one needs to move up in the rankings in Trip Advisor.
Appetizers: Festival & Plantains, Coco Fried Shrimp, Jerk Wings & Jamaican Patties
Specialities: Oxtail, Stewed Chicken, Curried Goat, Callaloo & Saltfish, Jerk Pork. Akee & Saltfish and Veggie Mezzi
It was authentic Jamaican food. Definatly worth a stop even if it is just for a drink.

“Juicy Jamaican Chicken Patties-MMMMMMMMM”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

We grabbed a bite here for a quick lunch after several recommendations from locals. Located on a backstreet of the Charlotte Amalie shopping district, this could easily be overlooked. In fact, this was our first time dining here after 3 trips to St. Thomas. So glad that we stopped in. Just wanting a Pina Colada and maybe some appetizers to tide us over until dinner, we ordered the Juicy Jamaican Chicken Patties and the Jerk Chicken Wings. WOW!! Simple food, complex flavor. The patties consist of a curry inspired chicken filling, just the right amount of heat(scotch bonnet ?), wrapped in a flaky curried pastry turnover. Incredibly good at only $3.50!!! The wings were marinated in a spicy sweet bbq and grilled perfectly-$7.00. We will definately be making a return to this establishment in the future. I'm inspired to search for a Jamaican Chicken Patty recipe on the web. Stop in, You'll be so glad you did.
