We greatly disliked our stay at this "B&B" for many reasons, starting with the
ridiculously over-priced $40 ride from the airport, which was in the owner's
pick-up truck with the seats covered in dirty towels and ants (yes, ants!)
crawling on my boyfriend in the back seat. Upon arrival, we were driven down a
long driveway with numerous pot holes, to find a ramshackle building. The main
lobby area is large, clean and bright, which makes you think that maybe it won't be so bad, but I should have known something was wrong when the owner wanted payment as soon as we walked in without letting us see the room first. The room: Desperately in need of a
paint job with dirty, stained walls. Bed: hard as a rock and rickety.. just touch it and you hear the creaks. No blankets on bed; just a sheet. Pillow: also hard as a rock. Linen: old and scratchy. Furniture: old, uncomfortable, and looks like it came from a flea market with dirty cushions. Just all around depressing to spend any time in and nowhere comfortable to sit. Fridge: worked off and on. A/C: owner turns off when you leave the room, so it is hot as blazes upon return. Distance from things to do: Yes, it is technically within walking distance to Red Hook and Secret Harbour Beach, but not comfortable or safe to do so. If you don't want to walk down the long, broken pavement driveway (where there is a very strong, unpleasant sewerlike smell), you have to go out the back and negotiate overgrown cement steps down to a gate and then walk on curvy, hilly roads with no shoulder/sidewalks and heavy vegetation on both sides in heavy traffic. We don't mind walking, but this is very scary and dangerous walking, with nowhere to go when a car or truck comes zooming around a corner!
If you decide you don't want to risk that and take a cab instead, prepare to pay.. and pay... and pay. The drivers charge you $5 per person(!), even for a 5 minute ride. Whatever savings you get by staying at this place will quickly be eaten up by extraordinarily high cab fares.
And finally, we were astonished by the stinginess of the owner on our last day. We were leaving very early in the morning on our day of departure (before breakfast would be served) and asked if we could have some milk for our coffee to keep in the fridge the evening before. The owner gave us a small carafe with about a quarter inch of milk in it... not even enough for one cup. We asked for a bit more, and he returned having added perhaps another quarter of an inch to the carafe.
Our stay at Two Sandals was unpleasant on many levels, and we definitely would not return.

We value all of the feedback we receive from our guests in an effort to improve our business. There are just a few things we would like to address in this review. First, our airport pickup fee is comparable to what what the local taxis charge on this island. It is approximately a forty minute drive from the airport to our property. The advantage with our service is that you will be driven directly to the inn, as opposed to waiting while other people in the taxi van are dropped off at other hotels and resorts in the area, saving time and some fustration. We regret that this guest ran into some ants in our vehicle, but we are happy to report this is one and only time that this has happened. We do admit that St. Thomas, as a whole, is not pedestrian-friendly and lacks sidewalks throughout most of the island. We do advise potential guests that if they plan on being in St. Thomas for more than a few days, it may be advisable to rent a car during their stay, as taxi fares can quickly add up. Finally, we regret the misunderstanding about the perceived "stinginess" over the milk-we simply did not know how much milk this guest preferred in her coffee and we can assure you that this was not an effort to save cost on milk.
