“The worst hotel I have ever been at.”

This was the worst hotel my boyfriend and I had stayed at. The actual structure is falling apart, the staff has no concept of costomer service and they advertise that this resort has a restaurant which it doesnt. I found this place through Hotels.com which gave it four stars. Their rating system should be abolished as this hotel should not have even received one star. The actual suite we stayed at was so old that the tiles on the floor at one time 20 years ago must have been white, they are no longer that color. Also the tiles on the suite and the bathroom was full of spots. The bathroom fixtures were so old that the original color of the fixtures are long gone. There was mildew on the sinks.

This hotel advertised that it has a restaurant, however their restuaurant closed several months ago due to legal disputes that the whole resort is under. The only place that you could get a bite to eat is at the pool bar, which at times serves finger foods - that's not reliable either.

My trip itinerary # was 21858334.

I exchanged my timeshare in Ireland for this place. The location is great. It is on one of the best beaches on St. Thomas and it is close to Red Hook where you will find the ferry to St. John and several restaurants.

I would not stay at this place for several reasons, however. It has been not renovated or updated in years. The paint is chipping inside and outside the units. The floor tiles need to be replaced. A light fixture in our unit did not work and they never did fix it (after we told them twice). The bed was lumpy and needs to be replaced. The couch was very uncomfortable, dirty, and old. Overall, the facilities are generally run down. It would seem that the owners milked it for cash and never bother to maintain it.

This hotel does not recieve enough credit. Upon arrival we were welcomed by complimentary rum punch and snacks. Once inside our hotel we recieved a complimentary bottle of Cruzan rum, a Coke, and a large bottle of water. The views from our Beachfront Condo were breathtaking. The room was clean and desent; the bathroom had double sinks and was quite large. Breakfast was complimentary in the morning. The Consierge helped us dearly (for we had never been the Virgin Islands before). Snorkling at Sapphire Beach is amazing. One taxi drive made the comment to me that Magen's Bay is nice, but Sapphire should be the number one beach on St Tomas, which is entirely true. Watch the sunrise in the morning and you will not want to leave. Disregard the negative comments, although the restaurant on the beach is not open, The Grapevine is just a walk up the hill and the food is excellent and who needs a gift shop, isn't that what Charlotte Amalie is for? I was extremely pleased with the hotel and service; those that say otherwise must not travel often, or at least not out of the continental U.S. very often. It is an island, you can't expect too much, unless you want to stay segregated from the actual community at the Ritz or Wyndham, (which are on low quality beaches anyways).

(the only default are the beach bugs, waking up with bug bites is kind of annoying, but oh-well, I'd rather have bites with a view any day.)

Major issues going on at this resort. Restaurant has closed and had been over a year and both beach bars are closed. Room wasn't cleaned completely, there was still coffee in pot and dirty dishes. Sliding glass door lock/handle was broken, so couldn't lock room entire week. Told maintenance but never repaired. Divider that seperated bedroom from kitchen was broken off and never repaired that either. Gift shop/store was closed. If you want beautiful view but no bar or food this is ok place to go. We will not be back!!

I agree SOME rooms need renovating, but rooms are INDIVIDUALLY
owned by people, we got there and had a horrible room, but we made a list of complaints and they moved us to another nicer room that was open, It have a beautiful view of the usvi's and bvi's, there are no restaurant, but they are CONDOS ,its called you buy the food at a grocery store and cook food at the room, beautiful beach, i saw sea turtles out there too, beautiful. Its not the Ritz, but its nice
