“Great food, great service! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

I recently had the chance to eat at The Cellar can't wait to go back. I had amazing service from Ms. Carla who had excellent recommendations. My group and I were very pleased with the entire experience. I will be recommending The Cellar as well as requesting Carla for fantastic service to anyone living or visiting St. Thomas. Especially for the 4 course wine tasting!

“Excellent Happy Hour and Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

The Cellar's Happy Hour is from 5 to 8 pm, so it can really serve as an evening meal. I ordered the $6 calamari and $10 Caesar salad last night and was very pleased with the light and fresh ingredients and the generous portions. With a couple of glasses of a very drinkable Argentine Chardonnay at $5 each (Happy Hour price), I was a satisfied gal. Staff Brad and Tony were friendly and attentive without being "too much." The only downside is the music--even though a fellow named Mark happily attended to it immediately when asked, they should really rethink the selection and variety.

“Best Happy Hour food on the island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

The happy hour drinks are amazing, but the happy hour food menu is even better. It's a great value and easily makes a meal.

“Tasty Meal in Red Hook”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

My husband and I ate here the day on New Year's Day 2014. We had read good things about it on here and thought we'd give it a try. Unfortunately, I think we should have waited a few days. The meal was pretty good but it took forever to get it. We were seated right away, and our server, Tony, was as pleasant as he could be. Despite the fact that we had a reservation, we waited a very, very long time just get drinks before dinner. Then he took our appetizer order and disappeared again for quite awhile. It didn't appear as though the restaurant was really that busy, but something was definitely going on because we noticed others were waiting and being served slowly as well. Once the appetizers came out, our order was taken and we then sat, and sat and sat some more. At some point we had begun to discuss how long things were taking and at about that time, the manager came out and apologized for the long wait. He said something about a lot of his employees coming down with the "island flu" which we figured out must've meant too many of them partied hard for New Year's Eve and didn't show up. Despite the eternal wait though, the food did not suffer and it was worth waiting for. My husband had the beef wellington and it looked beautiful and tasted great but was a little bit on the lukewarm side. We figured it probably sat and waited while mine was being prepared. Still tasty though. I had chosen the lobster linguini and it, too, was delicious. The portions were very decent as well. Quite honestly, if it hadn't taken so long to get the meal itself, we probably would have ordered dessert. We just felt like it was the wrong day to come in, as far as service went. Tony was great and we are sure he was doing his best. Before leaving, we both said we'd come again and give it another shot because the food was good enough to make us want to return. It was obvious the restaurant was understaffed that day so we will go back when we come to St. Thomas next year. It just won't be on New Year's Day. We think it is a fine place to get a delicious meal and certainly worth giving a second try because any restaurant can have a bad day with service, but the food most definitely did not suffer. Seating seems to be limited so definitely make a reservation.
