Description: “Tropical serenity meets cutting-edge chic.” These descriptive words spoken by co-owner, Nicole Horstmeyer, best describe the company vision of Blue Shore Grill which owns and operates the Frenchman’s Reef & Marriott Morning Star Beach Resort’s hottest restaurant – HAVANA BLUE. Overlooking Morning Star Beach, HAVANA BLUE is by far the island’s most sought after restaurant. The stunning décor features an eclectic mix of New York, South Beach and the Caribbean style to create a hip, yet approachable vibe. The restaurant’s cuisine combines authentic Cuban and Latin dishes with exotic spices and tangy sauces from the Pacific Rim. All of this, combined with the restaurant’s oceanfront location, creates a culinary experience unlike any other in the Caribbean.

“Ranks as one of the finest meals ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2011

This was truly a fabulous dining experience in all ways. The ambiance is wonderful as we were seated with a lovely view of the beach and harbor and dined with a gentle off-shore breeze blowing softly all evening. Our favorite cocktail is the Ruby Roja-a mixture of grapefruit juice, lime, fresh ginger and rum. It was refreshing and delicious! My husband ordered the snapper and I had the mojito soaked skirt steak. Both were fantastic! A real island find!

“Great restaurant and beautiful atmosphere!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2011

My husband and I ate here a couple of times on our honeymoon. The first night I called and made a reservation telling them that we just got married and wanted a good table. They were very nice and sat us right by the water. Service was great and the view was beautiful. Prices are high like other restaurants, but this restaurant was a lot nicer and food was good. The second night it was different staff and waitor was unattentive, but I would still recommend.

“Total Disappointment!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2011

I read all of the great reviews and was excited for a great meal. I have a family of 4. We are used to fine restuarants in NYC and northern NJ in both the moderate and high-end price range. Havana Blue was far below what we are used to. We had an 8 o'clock reservation and even though the restaurant was half empty, we waited more than 20 minutes after our reservation for our table. My civiche appetizer was so smothered in sauce that you could not taste the tuna and shrimp. the lobster tail was cold and when the bill came there was sticker shock - $78 with no warning that this was the "market price." The hanger steak was so steeped in an overly salty marinate that you could not taste the meat. Among the four of us, the only good entre was the stuffed red snapper, which was very good. The atmosphere was also very nice. My recommendation - skip the food and go for drinks to enjoy the ambience, but make sure you dine somewhere else!

“COCO BLUE - Havana's sister restaurant at Red Hook”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2011

Havana Blue just opened the end of January their Sister restaurant at Red Hook - COCO BLUE.

It is a great place! Wonderful food, outstanding staff. Make reservations. Word is getting our fast. We went the first week they were opened and by the time we left there was a wait.

“At the top of their game again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2011

As anyone who has been to Havana Blue in the last few years could tell you, they were uneven from visit to visit, from great to mediocre to rather bad. But I think things have turned around now with their new chef. We went twice in the last week and both times equally impressive in all areas. Our servers were attentive, friendly and knowledge (Sam was great!), the drinks good & brought promptly, the food excellent. We had the tempura sea bass in lettuce cups to start....it was awesome! I had the sea bass as my entree and my husband had the skirt steak. We loved them both. Also the key lime creme brulee for desert is superb. Plus of course it is the most beautiful restaurant on the island by far. Can't wait to go back next month when we return to St. Thomas!!!
