Whether you are an accomplished rider or a novice, you'll enjoy the ride, the views and the narrative provided courtesy of Steve and his crew at Equus. Our family of four, including one talented teen rider, another teen rider with some experience, and two parents with long ago riding experience, were all accommodated at our own pace with horses matched for each of us. Steve let my riding daughter go farther and faster and a little bit on her own, making the experience a trip highlight for her. The rest of us were guided by Steve to wander among the trees on trails leading up to incredible views of the ocean. They provided nature and historical commentary and insights along the way. My horse wasn't too crazy about going into the surf, but with some encouragement from Steve, I "encouraged" my horse with a tap of the reins, and the horse was inspired to wander into the ocean. It was an exhilarating and memorable experience that our whole family enjoyed! Couple of tips: If you want to take pictures (and you should, and Steve will help with getting some good group shots), make sure your camera is small enough to fit in a secure pocket, and waterproof, too. You will get wet up to your knees and more when you wade into the ocean on your horse. Also, make sure you take advantage of the facilities before you start your ride, as there were no bathrooms available during the riding experience.
