“Excellent place to snorkle!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

You may enter near the land side of the pier and snorkle. Sometimes there are literally thousands of fish there. There are even several species of seahorses. People scuba dive here and I have seen people night diving here. When cruise ships are docked, access to the pier is prohibited to ship passengers. You could still swim over from the shoreline to the pier, but there are often small tour boats going in and out, so that could be a bit dangerous. Ships are only in for a day and usually depart by 5 PM, so you could always wait until then.

“Where the cruises port”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

The Frederickstead Pier is lovely in and of itself, but the shopping and resturants for the cruise line folks has a lot to be desired. There are only two resturants and very few shops. If you can, take a taxi into Christianstead, a place for shopping and great resturants. If you choose to stay in Frederickstead, from the Pier you can walk to the resturant Pier 69, they have the best sloppy Joe sandwich I have ever eaten, Definitely worth trying.

“Crystal clear water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

Came here for vacation when a cruise ship wasn't docked. Many stores are only open during cruise ships, but we still found plenty to do. Went snorkeling near the pier where we saw flounder, sea urchins, squid, sea eggs, giant anemone, varieties of fish including parrot fish, puffer fish, and grunts. Water visibility is excellent. Also jumped off the pier. It seems scary because you can see the seafloor, but it is still very deep. If you have sprint, full reception all along the pier!

“Taxi Taxi Taxi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

Great little pier to dock a 2000 passenger cruise ship. So many things to do and everything is open on cruise day. Tons of little shop hawking all there handmade goods. We were able to get a taxi right away but did not really care for there service. There was 18 of us and put everyone in the bus but gave us tickets for our return trip back. Not all taxi's took the tickets and they don't bother to tell you that either.

“Great Pier to take a Stroll on.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

It's a long pier that the cruise ships dock on. We took a walk out on it one morning when no ships were there. It's a nice place to see and take a walk... and also see some crabs!
