tissue paper sheets, the owners could not give a S@#T about anything other then charging your credit card. One thing they do not tell you is that they sell beach chairs to the cruise ships that come to port. One day your beach is paradise the next day is wall to wall people smoking cigs, ordering every morsel of food on the menu leaving paper and trash on the beach. The locals apparently like to drag race on she street out front after 11PM so don't plan on a great nights sleep, this place is the Super 8 of St.Croix and that's all you should expect, look elsewhere for a little more money and much better service. Free Mold in your room!!!!

I would go back to this resort year after year. It is located on a stretch of beach that is long, quiet and beautiful. The service is very friendly and helpful! The room was very clean as was the resort overall.

We just spent 9 nights at Sand Castle and came away with a very favorable impression of the hotel despite it being a very slow time on the island.

First and foremost, the people are what makes this made a positive experience. Irma was very welcoming and always friendly. The housekeeping and grounds staff were wonderful and friendly also. Bruno kept us in stitches with his great sense of humor but was always quick to lend assistance with a beach umbrella, a kayak, etc. Scotty in the bar makes terrific daiquiris! Sheryl, one of the owners, was very warm and friendly as well. Everyone was very attentive without being intrusive.

We had dinner our first night at the restaurant and the food and service was terrific. My partner was in LOVE with the white chocolate bread pudding.

I would caution that this is a place for seasoned travelers. This isn't a luxury resort. It's a quaint, beautiful and friendly oasis. We did have a couple issues (the shower basin not draining properly and the air conditioner in the bedroom leaking water) but the staff responded IMMEDATELY when we brought these to their attention.

I say this because I have traveled to several islands in the Caribbean and know that to get to the beautiful beach scenes you see on post cards, that you often have to go through some depressing and seedy looking areas. St. Croix is no different in that aspect.

Fredericksted is about a mile down the beach from the hotel but was a virtual ghost town for the entire time we were there except for the two times that cruise ships were in dock. There are a couple small restaurants and bars in town but we were warned not to walk from the hotel to town after dark.

Christiansted is bigger than Fredericksted and has a more shops and restaurants but it's about a 40 minute drive from the hotel. Taxis are expensive so I would strongly recommend renting a car while on the island. It's at least 2-3 miles to the nearest grocery store.

They do drive on the left but all the roads on the island are two lanes - one for each direction so just make sure that you always have the shoulder of the road on the driver's side - or that on the same side of the road as the car in front of you. The worst that will happen is someone will honk at you and that's a small price to pay for the money you'll save on taxis and the opportunities you'll give yourself to see more of the island.

We booked our vacation in late October to avoid "hurricane season". The weather was terrific the entire time. A couple late night rain storms but every day the sun was out all day. But with that said, many of the shops and restaurants were still closed as the islands go on vacation during this time. I recommend researching when the best time to go to the island is based on your own personal preferences.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 301. The front door opened up to a patio area that fronted the beach. The room wa...

We never had to worry about anything hike staying at sand castle. Aside from the restaurant not being open everyday. But there are plenty I places within a five or ten minute walk that were perfect. The staff was always friendly and very helpful. The cab drivers they refer people to are fantastic. Prices were reasonable and we snorkels right off the property literally every day. Awesome spot for a low key vacation.

This was our first trip to the Carribbean and the Sand Castle family treated us like one of their own. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. Irma, Sparkle, Kelly and everyone at the front desk were very helpful and very sweet. The pool and pool area was beautiful and well maintained. We met Bruno and he gave us a very special island tour and showed us things we could have never seen without his guidance. Thanks again Bruno! We love you man! The beach here is so beautiful. we watched dolphins swim by most every morning and again at sunset... SPECTACULAR!!! We met a lot of local people at the pool and their acceptance and warmth is what made our trip so super special. It was off season and the restaurant was closed for a vacation but we did sit in the dining room area a few times and it is beautiful. We will most definitely be staying at the Sand Castle on the Beach during future visits to St Croix! We LOVED it! Thanks again Sand Castle Family! For everything!!!'

While spending the afternoon at Rhythms at Rainbow Beach we asked our bartender Jamie where we could get a nice meal in Frederiksted. Jamie made a quick call and got us reservations at the restaurant in the Sand Castle on the beach hotel. When we arrived the staff treated us like we were celebrities, they went out of there way to make us feel special and even set us up a table right on the beach next to the ocean. Our waiter Bruno was great he was light hearted and full of energy and laughter, the food was some of the best we had during our stay in St.Croix, we even met the owner when we were leaving she was very friendly and made the dinner even that more memorable. We rate this place 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to everyone visiting the island.

The gem of the Caribbean!

My wife and I have come to this resort over and over again. It's quiet, clean, and just a mile outside of town - close enough to be convenient, but far enough to really feel paradise. The staff is friendly, both swimming pools maintained well, and their restaurant... wow. Five nights a week, the Beachside Cafe serves everything from burgers to grilled cedar-plank mahi.

There is a physical therapy center on-site which offers a range of services from a simple massage to serious rehab. There is a multitude of things to do here: yoga, ai chi, wine tasting, BEER tasting, snorkeling and scuba diving, private and personal island tours... and all of it right here on property! We keep returning, and we don't plan to stop.

Thank you Sand Castle on the Beach!
