Heard about Club st Croix from friends. My husband and I do not enjoy 5 star hotels with spa and all that nonsense. We like quaint, quiet places to stay where there won't be screaming kids and alot of activity on the beach. We are in our 50's and want to relax now. This was the place! Read the other reviews and yes the beach is full of turtle grass, If you snorkle this is not a problem...just snorkle out to the reef for amazing sights! the beach was quiet....beautiful and if you want to find conch shells....they are everywhere! If you enjoy a truly island feel, with no fuss, this is the place to go. Not for the young, there is nothing to do there for them. Never had a problem with the locals or the housing project in the neighborhood. This is an island and life here is different, if its not your cup of tea you s hould not go to an island. We read about the rooms and requested the room our friends had since they were so impressed. But while there I did ask the maids if I could look into some of the other rooms. They are all different because they are privately owned. So thats why the reviews are so different. We stayed in #302 and it was delightful. The restuarant was great, ,the deposit the reception area asks for when you check in is only for the owners security. You get it all back if you return the remotes. these units are all privatley owned, furnished etc by the indiv. owners. Antilles Resorts just manages it for them. Anyway....we love it and will go back again !

The Club St. Criox was definately in poor condition with poor customer service.
Upon arrival, we picked up keys at the locked office. We had to ring a bell and someone would open the door. We filled out the paperwork and were basically charged for everything, even a remote control for the television.
The sliding glass doors would not lock so there was no way to secure your valuables. There was mold in the bath tub, cracked vanity cabinets, broken light switches, burnt out light bulbs, and greasey stove and kitchen appliances. The view to the left was a nice beach, but directly in front of our room was the restaurant and we smelled the deep fryers every night. To the right was the water purification plant.
The hotel was also right next door to the "ghetto." If you made on wrong turn you would have to drive through the projects to get to the Club St. Croix. One night we heard on the news there was a shooting in the project area.
After we arrived I contacted Priceline asking if they could get us different accomdations, but this request was declined.
I just wanted to submit this review so that other travelers will not experience the same sub-par accomodations.

We enjoeyd our stay at Club St.Croix. I did the triathlon and we stayed an additional 5 days. The staff was courteous, and our unit was clean. We stayed in a 1 bedroom loft which was wonderful. The 2 bathrooms did come in handy. The onsite resturaunt had a delicious menu, and evening meals outside are very pleasant. The pool was wonderful. It is 30 yards long and was perfect for swimming laps. At first look, the water appears to be murky. But when you get in, you realize the underwater surface is finished in a sand color, and the water is quite clear and clean. The beach is nice, however there is an abundance of seawead which makes wading out rather distasteful. Cane Bay, which is a 20 minute drive, has a nice beach with very little seawead. Also, the Hotel On The Cay has a very nice beach.
Club St.Croix is close enough to Christianstad to walk, (about 1to1.5 miles). However, you do have to walk through a housing project, but we had no problems. I found St.Croix to be slower paced and more relaxing than alot of other caribean islands. It is definitely not a party capital, but the Jump Up celebration held in early May was very exciting. I would highly recomend St.Croix And the Club St.Coix Resort.

This has got to be one of the finest run hotels (condo complex) on the island. They offer a varied array of room configurations and sizes. The place is gated and secure. It is one of the nicest ocean front resorts we have seen on St Croix. The beach is a one minute walk right out in front, there is a fine-dining experience to be had right on the premises at Breezes which also has a lounge/bar with ocean/pool view. There is a pool right in fron of the restaurant with a nice deck and neatly lined up beach chairs overlookng the beach. The grounds are exceptionally well-kept with blooming flowers, neat island plants and aloes, and palm trees on the beach with litle tiki huts.

The staff is prompt and polite and they offer a choice of house-keeping schedules. The office offers newspapers, a vending machine and a charcoal grill. The view from the open verandas just outside the sliding glass doors of the living room overlook the roof of the restaurant out onto the beach and Christianstad harbor. Gorgeous sunsets from any of the rooms and a great view of Buck Island. Take the trip to Buck if you get the chance...you'll be hooked on St Croix from this experience alone.

Club St Croix is also within walking distance to fast food, a gym, and supermarket but I would recommend driving.

We had a fabulous time. The condo we stayed in was on the third floor...may sound tiring but these units offer great views even from the loft style bedroom with spacious baths. Lots of closet space, phones, TVs both in the living room and the upstairs bedroom of this particular condo. Our unit had two baths which was very convenient for us, as a couple, getting ready to go out on the town at ngiht.

Ample parking right in front of the entrances which are nicely decorated and colorful

We will definitely be going back to St Croix and staying at Club St Croix next year.

“Horrible beaches”

Club St. Croix Beach and Tennis Resort

ROOM: Our room wasn't as bad as others are saying. We happened to get a room that was very clean and in good condition. However, the air conditioner ( a window unit) was constantly on, and it never really got to a good temperature. It was very hot inside. Our balcony was large and was a great place to spend the night sipping pina coladas.
POOL: I love swimming, but this pool was not even something I would put my toes in. The water was a murky green, even though the walls were painted blue. I asked if the pool was closed, but the manager said that was open and that it was perfectly clean.
BEACH: This was the worst part about the hotel. The water was filled with seaweed, and this seaweed was dumped onto the beach every night. The hotel staff did rake it up every morning though. However, you couldn't really get into the water due to all the seaweed. We went to the Hotel on the Cay for their beach, and it was wonderful.
NEIGHBORHOOD: This is situated right across the street from a dilapidated neighborhood, which could have very well been the projects. There is security at the hotel's gate, so you aren't really bothered by anyone.
TRAVEL: We rented a Jeep from Avis at the airport, so we never really had to wait for taxis. I recommend renting something as you will save on taxi fares. Also, you get to drive on the "wrong" side of the road! We loved this part of our vacation: getting to see areas that other tourists might not get to.
