Bottom line - Beautiful property, wonderful staff and very relaxing.

My wife and I went for our honeymoon and spent the new year here and it was a lot of fun! Definitely go with the all inclusive package - it is definitely worth the extra money and you will have full run of the resort and everything they have to offer.

We are just a regular working class couple and this was our first stay at a resort; that being said we felt pampered and got more than we expected; if there are resorts that offer more that would seem excessive to us.

Make sure to ask the front desk for an itinerary when you get there; that lists all the special activities and dinner options!

Room Tip: The room was great, every room has a balcony area facing the ocean. The first floor is a trade off...

This place wasn't the best place that we have ever stayed at; it was the employees and the food that made it enjoyable. Plus, their pizza is out of this world. We loved the pizza and the people so much, this was our second time at the Divi. We never had a bad meal and the service was always excellent to us. Perhaps, because my husband and I are "people" people, we enjoyed and was treated very well by all. We talked and joked with everyone; bar staff (especially SCOTT), wait staff (all (mostly Marlon)), front desk/lobby (all), etc. Also, the people you met were like old friends. I would say one thing about the resort.....it does need a lot of up-keep done to it. We had a couple of miner things in our room that needed to be fixed and they came right away to fix them. But the whole facility itself, needs a lot of maintenance, getting rid of all the rusted, broken, eye sore catching hardware that you see everywhere. Needs to have someone take command and add a little TLC to the place; like adding some flower beds in front and back of the rooms, especially on the ocean side where everybody spends most of their time. Remove the vines from the beach area and add sand to make it more accessible. Also, I agree with others who made the comment in reference to closing everything down by 10 pm. You're on vacation, who wants to stop partying at 10:00. This sort of forces you to go to the casino to drink or get something to eat. They need to keep the pool bar open later in the night. These are only a few suggestions that would/could be a start in having people come to or return to the Divi and enjoy themselves. St. Croix is a very nice place and the Divi could be too!!

We are doing some renovations. Unfortunately, it has been progressing much slower than anticipated and appreciate that you were able to see beyond that.

It's always a fun time to have our guests return. Return guests, to us, are like family coming back after a long time away. It certainly was a pleasure catching up with you again on this trip and we are happy to hear that you really enjoyed our hospitality.

This place was a bust. The room was ok, tropical, wicker furniture. Clean as a pin, kudos to housekeeping. BUT- the safe was broken, and the phone would not call front desk, operator, bell, or room service. If the phone DID work I doubt we would have received service anyway. Christie the bartender and Marlon the waiter were the only friendly people in the whole place. We chose all inclusive package, but they closed everything early almost every night. One evening we caught the bartender leaving 30 minutes early and she rolled her eyes and told us "it never fails! as soon as I leave, here they come." She handed us a 6 pack of red stripe and invited us to go back to our room. 5 Star PADI Dive shop there...not really. The lady in there said she was busy and asked us to come back later. When we asked about a well known dive location, she said she wasn't sure about it. When we got to eat, the food was good. Drinks were weak and yucky UNLESS you were out at the Pizza joint on the front side. Very good, but again closed early. Save your $, stay away from this place. Even if you didn't do the all inclusive, the food here is still pricey.

Room Tip: Choose a room not in this hotel.

In the Hospitality Industry are faced with, and one that we try to tackle to the best of our ability each day. When our efforts fail to meet expectations, it is important that the matter be brought to our attention so that it may be corrected as soon as possible.

We are sorry to hear that you felt only two members of our staff provided good service. Especially after reading all the prior reviews that speak about how everyone on our team is really friendly and attentive.

Your observations are important to us and could have been better addressed had the matter been brought to our attention during your stay. Nonetheless, we continuously provide our staff with training and will be revisiting these topics with them during our upcoming exercise.

What can I say about Divi?? If I would of had my choice, I would of left the first night I was there. We were greeted, Or should I say Not greeted, with "here is your room key, beach towel cards, and "all-inclusive" wrist band... don't loose em, or you will be charged a lot of money"! We had to carry our own luggage to the very end of the resort, which was approx 200 yards from the bell desk. We paid for the "luxury beach front room" and even though our room was very clean it was definitely not luxurious. It was very plain, vinyl flooring, small bathroom, small television, and a bed that was very old, sunk in, and not real comfortable. The "all-inclusive" part of the resort was almost a joke. It was only all-inclusive at Breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was no room service, and everything closed down at 10 PM Sharp! OR at 9 or 930, if they thought there was not enough people to keep it open. The rum (even though it was Cruzan rum from right there on the island) tasted watered down, and they had no premium alcohols what so ever! One of the employees of the resort told us that "they used to have good alcohol, but since they went all-inclusive, we got rid of all of the good stuff". The food was definitely tasty all over the resort. The best food was there pizza, that is offered in the parking lot. They have a pizza place out there in order to attract customers other that resort guests. The main thing that aggravated us about this resort was how unfriendly the entire staff was!! NO ONE would even acknowledge you, unless you said hello first, and even then, they would hardly smile. There was one employee. His name was Marlon. IF it was not for Marlon and his super happy stories, and letting us know that he enjoyed us being there, we would of not spent ANY time at our "all inclusive" resort. We ended up renting a Jeep and would spend the entire days of our trip on the island. The beach in front of the resort is small but nice. there is a beach to the left of the resort that makes for some excellent walking!! The beach towels that the resort offer to you are small and very thin. When you get off of the beach and want a shower, then you have to let the hot water run for 5 minutes 20ish seconds (we timed it!) before the water would heat up. The bathroom is very plain. A stand up shower, plastic, and small all together. The "dive shop" that they have on the property is not a dive shop at all! If you want to dive, you have to go into town, and the "dive shop" can arrange for that. There is no dive master on site and definitely not a boat to go diving on. The casino: Is not in the resort. It is across and down the street almost 400 yards. You can walk to it in the dark or security can drive you over there. Inside is old and very un-inviting. They have old slot machines and a couple of table games.
We fell in love with ST CROIX on this trip, and not because of Divi. If I would of stayed at the resort the entire time, I would never go back. However, we rented a JEEP and explored the island, and we will most definitely go back!! I highly recommend St Croix... Just don't stay at the Divi Carana!!

Room Tip: Rooms 50 and higher (250+, 350+ etc) are a long way from the resort. Lots of walking

Thank you for sharing a review. We are sorry to hear that you felt our hospitality standards were so lacking. Especially after reading all the prior reviews that speak about how friendly and attentive our staff is.

I would like to take the time however, to clarify some things that you’ve mentioned in your review. At check in, we take into consideration that you have been traveling for a long time and try to make check -n as quick as possible while providing you with as much information as we can. When it comes to possible charges that may incur during your visit, most of our guests appreciate hearing about that up front rather than finding out at check out that you would need to pay for services or items used or misplaced during a visit. One thing that is most misunderstood is Room Service. We do offer Room Service, however it is not included in the All Inclusive Package and would be part of the things you would be charged for. The information given at check-in, in no way, was meant to hinder your stay. Each clerk attempts to lighten your mood by making check-in a fun process. We apologize if this information came off as anything other than light and informative.

Every morning we hold a Guest Orientation that could address any questions you may have and with a quick question, any of our staff would be happy to point you in the right direction. Guests may attend the orientation any day during their stay although we suggest you attend it on your first day. Orientation includes showing a map of the island, some key things to do while on island, finding your way around the property, activities around property and explaining where to go if you need assistance.

There is some walking to do around the resort however the farthest room is not 200 yards away. Actually, it’s about maybe 60 yards away from the lobby and this would put you in the premium section of the hotel. The casino is also not 400 yards away as this would be like walking 4 football fields. In fact, the Casino is a 5 minute walk away from the lobby and as you’ve mentioned, if you would prefer not to walk there is a cart that we use to transport guests to and from the Casino.

Again, we are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your time at Carina Bay. But we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to St. Croix. Thanks for sharing.

Visited St Croix last February and stayed at Divi Carina Bay. Loved it! Had a great time, good food, excellent friendly, helpful staff. Rented a car and enjoyed driving around the island. Not difficult at all to learn the roads.
Will be back in a February for another week ... Can't wait!!!

My wife and I recently visited Divi Carina Bay All Inclusive Beach Resort. They treated us like royalty. The room was clean. Everything worked. The food was excellent. The service was on par with other places we visited in the US and Caribbean. We can't wait for our next visit. The Quadrill Dancers put on a great show that I Face-timed to Atlanta. We did not get to see the crab race, but will make effort to see it next visit. EC taught us to do the Wobble. Keep up the good work Divi Carina Bay.

Stayed here between December 11-15th, 2013, great deal, food was awesome, the pizza place outside was a must. Location was a bit away from anything, but the view was amazing. Need to arrange better transfer and walkway between casino and resort. My big complaint was the front desk staff. Never helpful and I was always treated like a pest. I arranged a taxi for 2 nights and one night, the desk never called the taxi service. I waited and waited and the taxi never came. The desk staff left around 9:00pm and never returned.
