We have been going to Cane Bay Reef Resort for the last ten years. Our host and hostess, Joe and Nancy Scirto, are entirely in a class of their own.
Hats off to them for making us feel like we are coming home. The rooms are quaint with tropical themes and island decor. They are clean and neatly kept. All the rooms face the ocean with a balcony. Bogey's bar and restaurant has a warm and friendly staff. The ambiance is incredible as you watch the sunset. The food is fantastic. If you like fresh lobster this is the place to come. In addition, Joe makes a point to have a theme and specials to his nightly dinner menus.

If you are looking for a down to earth place where you can relax and enjoy an incrdible view of the ocean this is the place to be. There is no hussle and bussle here, just pure leisure. Our twin daughters
have been coming with us since they were 8 years old and all I can say is that when they ask to go back for senior spring break this year it means something.
It's like coming home! The Russell Family

“Cane Bay- Getting better, but would not recommend”

Cane Bay Reef Club

While the Cane Bay Reef club is under renovation, I would not recommend staying in the separate building. The rooms are infested with bugs. There are no screens on the sliding glass doors. You MUST bring bug spray- the bugs will swarm you. The counters are covered with ants. The stove didn't work and the fridge froze everything that we put in it. It was very dirty- you could not walk across the room without flipflops. The shower was slimy.
The pillows were yellow and stained. The other room in the building did not have any air conditioning in the living room, so you had to stay in the bedroom at all times. The other building was much nicer- and was cleaner, cooler, and had obviously been freshly painted.
Another problem is that the place is very hard to find if you are coming back and forth from Christiansted- we had continuous problems getting back and forth.
On the nice side, the owner was very responsive and very nice. The bar there is great. The sheets and towels were fine.

It's been nearly two years and I still have bad dreams and thoughts about our stay at Cane Bay Reef Resort. It is as low as low can go. I have made 14 trips to the Carribean often returning to favorable resorts. I am an experienced traveler and know what to expect from what I pay. Cane Bay was a rip off. Dirty, old, no/low maintenance, not low key, low class. AVOID

I stayed here in March 2004 for my honeymoon. We had been to St. Croix previously and chose to stay on the North Shore because of the wonderful Cane Bay Beach as well as the small, family run accomodations. We stayed in the larger corner suite and were quite happy with the room. It was large and the balconey was right above the water. While the furnishing were older, the room was clean and just what we needed. Bogey's has wonderful food! Both the lobster dinner and the surf and turf were the best we had on the island. The Mexican buffet was also a great deal. Joe and all the staff were very helpful and friendly as were all the locals at the bar. We would definitely stay here again. Be warned though that the drive gets tiring and there is limited nightlife on this part of the island.

A friend and I had booked at a b and b in town. When we arrived we thought it was no place to two girls to stay alone...so we made some quick calls and were impressed with Joe's friendliness. We had difficulty finding our way there and stopped to call him to get directions. He told us to sit tight and drove out to meet us so we could follow him back to the Reef club. The rest of our stay offered that same kind of family feel. Unlimited phone services to speak with family back home. A "Cheers" atmosphere at the bar with locals and other guests. The kind of people this place attracts are people who enjoyed that low-key, laid-back friendly atmosphere. I'd go back in a second!
