Long review for an awesome stay!!
Our third trip to the island, first Seven Stars stay. Previous trips have been to the Regent Palms twice, and to The Sands for a few days. All of the properties have been awesome, and each with their own personality. After a single weeks stay at Seven Stars, I must confess that it is probably now our favorite spot, and we were skeptical if we could love another TCI property so much. The great beach & general location, the responsive & friendly service, and the overall atmosphere, will make it very difficult to go elsewhere for future visits to the island.
Arrival - We arrived later in the day as we had a long delay in Miami. It was great to finally drive up to the Seven Stars roundabout and into their driveway for the first time. Doil opened my car door at reception, and welcomed us with a big friendly smile. Doil instructed us to just take what we needed to check in, and he took care of the rest. We relaxed in the lobby while receiving a scented & cold wash cloth to refresh ourselves, and very importantly rum punch. Check in was easy, completed a brief document, and we were headed to our room within 10-12 minutes. Doil had parked our car in front of our building (Alya building), and helped get our bags into the room.
Property - Beautiful property with finely shaped & manicured gardens. Brick pavers form winding pathways through each area, with palm branches just draped overhead. The buildings are clean & beautiful, with tasteful island art work and decor lining the hallways and elevator stops. The elevators have nicely tiled floors, full length mirror walls, and have sweet island fragrances. Everything is tended to by a crew of folks that don't seem to miss any details.
Room - Oceanfront Suite, 1 Bedroom - We were originally shown to a ground level room - The ground level Oceanfront view was extremely nice, had a huge terrace w/ private gate access to the beach path, but did not show us as much of the ocean view as we enjoy. The gardens in front of this room, while lovely, did consume the majority of the view, with only a little ocean / beach to be seen. This room would likely be an excellent choice for families or groups, but not so much for us. My wife worked with the front desk to see if there was a chance to move higher. Tiffany did a fantastic job at understanding our desire to move, was super accommodating, and got us a 5th floor room the very next day (hotel was full that evening). Noel came to our room and helped us move all our stuff, and Tiffany followed up with us to be sure we were happy with everything. It was service with a smile the way Customer Service should be, and it reflected well on our opinion of the hotel & management. Thank you Tiffany!!
5th Floor Room - A view that just WOWS... Its hard to tear yourself away from just sitting and admiring that beach view. Our room was beautiful, very spacious, well maintained, and was enjoyable to relax in when waiting for the next activity to occur. Full kitchen was very nice and served us well on the days we had early excursions. The bathroom is great with double vanity sinks, a nice tub and spacious walk-in shower. The tile work all around was fantastic. The room closet has plenty of space, hangers, extra pillows, towels, and the easy to use safe was large enough to accomodate a laptop plus some if needed. The bed was comfortable, but I personally found the pillows to be a touch to soft for me (I probably could have gotten a different pillow if I asked), but was fine in general. We used the washer & dryer, that had soap provided by the hotel, and can equipped with iron & board. We were tempted to try the spa, but never got time to do so, get there next time. The spa offers sounded good though!
Breakfast - Served in the Seven restaurant and outside area (both covered and open). We usually cook all of our breakfasts in room when on the island. But, since it was our first stay here, and the meal was included in the price, we had to see how it was. The offerings were great and better than I expected - coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sauted mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, meat & cheese platter, pineapple, watermelon, mango, bananas, yogurt, cereals, breads, croissants, bagels, pastries. After our morning beach walks, we were really looking forward to this breakfast. Eronne's big beautiful smile welcomed us each morning, having us sit wherever we liked, getting us going with some coffee, tea, juice, etc. and leaving us with a Seven Stars daily news flyer.
The Pool - Big, beautiful pool that was over 84° F each time we used it. There were always a couple of empty loungers that we saw. The Sand Dollar Bar is there, and folks will occasionally come by to see if you needed anything - food / drink. There are fresh towels available and rinse stations very close by.
The Deck - Wow, what a beautiful area to sit and enjoy the beach view. Have a drink and a bite to eat, or just lounge on one of the couches. Endless possibilities for relaxing. There was an addition being done to The Deck, a hot tub and extra deck area - looked like it was going to be an awesome spot to sit. There was an occasional circular saw to be heard while on the beach, but it didn't stop me from being lulled into a nap by the ocean sounds.
We had dinner on Saturday evening there while seeing the entertainment of NaDa. The atmosphere of the soft music, small bonfire, couches to lounge in, had all the ingredients of a romantic time that we will cherish. The food and drink were very good, and we spent the whole evening there. Highly reccommended.
The Beach - Palapas and Beach umbrellas each with 2 chaisse loungers and a small table lined the beach. We easily found a spot everytime we wanted to be on the beach. The water was beautiful and a thousand different hues of blue, just awesome. The soft sand was great to run your feet through. Small cups of mango slushies were brought down to folks on the beach to enjoy. The Seven Stars beach folks helped you make use of their sailboats and paddle boards. The morning beach walks are a great way to start your day, and the water was usually nice and calm.
Location - Great general location - So close to the shopping areas I could clearly see The Regent Village, The Saltmills, and Graceway Gourmet from our room. Literally a couple minute walk, or bike ride on the hotel's bikes. The close location is perfect for a dinner at Caicos Cafe (7 minute walk from our hotel door), and many other area bars / pubs. Many other restaurants reside close by, are extremely easy & safe to drive to, or a cab ride is fairly inexpensive. Ex. -Was $10 each way for 2 to Coyaba the one evening we did not drive to dinner. When we did drive, parking was easy to find.
Service - The service was great on every level, we had no complaints. We don't require the room to be serviced every single day, it's just the two of us and I can certainly reuse a towel to help preserve island water... but the Hotel would always follow up with us to be sure we were all set with everything on those days. We received champagne for our anniversary & wife's birthday. Everyone greeted us and made us feel welcomed from beginning to end. Bella, (who had earlier made restaurant reservations for us) checked us out, and was interested to hear about our first stay, wanted to be sure we would be returning, super pleasant, and professional. It was all that you would expect from an award winning hotel, and it makes you want to return to see those smiling faces again. Our compliments to the entire staff, simply outstanding.
Finally - Please consider a stay at Seven Stars, and let these folks provide you with the same level of great service as we experienced.
