“Good Resort, room for improvements”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

My overall opinion on the resort is that is good for relaxing in one the most beautiful beaches I had seen. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is good, but limited in options. The rooms are very good and the building is about 5 years old, so it's in good shape. I heard that the best time to visit Providenciales is September or October (I prefer less crowded seasons)

I believe the hotel will suit the needs of couples or families with older children. Can't recommend it for families with little kids or toddlers. The food is good, but with limited options and honestly, expensive. It has a pool, but nothing extraordinary, good enough... You have a terrific beach next to you, so, why complain..

We stayed at the room 241b, which is a standard room, with no view to the beach and a single bed. The value for the room is just about right.
The room came with complementary continental breakfast, that will be good enough for some, but if you want more, be prepared to expended at least 13 usd per person if you can't keep eating the same thing every morning. Be aware also, that the mini bar doesn't have any sodas or water or... anything (but a bottle or two of booze), so unless you want to expend a lot of money on the premises, take bottles of water or whatever with you.

The hotel will arrange a trip to the local super market or wine cellar for you to stock your refrigerator or if you want to purchase something else. Anything will be expensive compared to the US, but it's what you get when you live in an island with practically no industry but just tourism.
The round trip for the shopping will cost you $8 usd/person.

The resort is next to the beach, so it's location is great. They have huts and beach seats, so unless it's packed, you will be able to get one of them. If you don't have snorkeling equipment, they will give it to you for $5 bucks the day per person. I can't say enough... The Beach is superb and you can see quite some fish just 20 meters away from the beach using the snorkeling stuff.

If you book the typical activities through the hotel staff in the lobby, you will be probably picked up at the hotel or very near to it in the beach.

For moving around the island, they have "Lige" set up for you. Lige it's like the personal driver of the hotel. He will take you anywhere at a reasonable price... Will be always expensive compared to your typical cab, but again... Nothing much you can't do. I didn't checked the rental car options, but the Island is so small and you will probably will spend most of the time laying on the beach or doing something in the sea that it seems to me there is no need for a car. And driving in the left side of the road seems always strange for me anyway.

If you want to leave and try different things outside the resort, most of the staff will recommend a place or thing to do, but try always to set up things through the hotel lobby. I tried to go to a place using a "recommended cousin" from someone from the staff, and he never showed up, so I was forced to implement a plan B to go where we want it that day... Anyway, just plan ahead and things will be Ok..

So, I can see myself returning to this hotel. With a girlfriend.

Enjoy your stay

This was our first visit to TCI and after our stay at the Windsong Resort, it won't be our last. We enjoyed the laid-back feel of the resort and the awesome staff who made the vacation even more special. Special thank-yous go out to Tika, Ian and Charles who were always accommodating to our requests.
Our room was one of the best we've experienced in our travels to the Caribbean. We were in a 3rd floor oceanfront suite that offered amazing views of the beach front as well as spectacular sunrises and sunsets. We loved the sliding door- paneled balcony that allowed you to open 2 sides of the room to let in the ocean breeze. While the resort shares Grace Bay beach with many others, Windsong's location was simply the best; with primo snorkeling right at the beach. We saw more varieties of sea life there than on our extended snorkeling trips.

Thank you for a great vacation
Cal and Pat

Providenciales (Provo) is a gorgeous place to visit. The Windsong is a beautiful resort. The staff is amazing and their focus is on hospitality. After a week, Ian, Tika, Samuel, Charles, and Francois will be family. The staff goes out of their way to make sure that you are enjoying your vacation. Ian went out of his way to make sure we had everything that we needed and anticipated anything we might need. He helped us navigate the tours and booked them in advance for us. We have traveled throughout Canada, United States, Caribbean, Asia and Europe, our first thought for a repeat trip is Provo at Windsong. Our goal is to avoid going the same places; we are already planning our next trip to Provo. We highly recommend the Windsong. The staff was absolutely wonderful and made our romantic getaway very enjoyable.

The Resort:

I don't know where to begin other than my wife and I were looking to spend our first anniversary and her birthday someplace special. We chose TCI based on our love of marine life and snorkeling. The Windsong is located on a prime section of coral where some great snorkeling can be experienced. Aside from the location, our room (1-bedroom oceanfront suite) was amazing. There was plenty of space and the kitchen with the washer/dryer were much appreciated. We ended up washing during our trip and wish we had packed less because of its convenience.

The Staff:

They were amazing.

Ian (Front Desk) - What a great guy. During one of our visits to the desk we asked if he could recommend any snorkel tours as ours got canceled last minute. It was a little late at night but he called his buddy right there and had us booked for a trip. He even mentioned to them that it was our anniversary and he asked the guys to do something special for us during the ride. Little did we know they got us a cake and we had it as dessert on the boat after snorkeling! This wouldn't have happened without Ian's help. If you need anything just ask for Ian and he will take good care of you.

Akeem (Beach Service) - Everyday while on the beach we could always expect to see Akeem show up to our umbrella asking if we needed anything. On his recommendation I got the coconut shrimp the first day and I ended up getting it every-time I went to lay at the beach.

Alice (Dinner Service) - Where to start. She is an absolute delight and we were so lucky to have met her. Prior to our arrival I had planned a romantic beach/sunset dinner for our anniversary. Little did I know just how amazing it would turn out to be. Alice has prepared our oceanfront table to the last detail. There were candles circling the table with flower pedals all around. The sand around the table was even raked to leave no footprints behind! This was the moment we will always remember and throughout dinner Alice went above and beyond looking after all of our needs.

The bottom line is we couldn't be happier that we picked the Windsong and we are 100% certain we will be returning to grace her beautiful beaches again.

Room Tip: You really should get the 1-bedroom suite as it is truly worth the cost. The spacious kitchen, livin...

52 room hotel where the people are genuinely happy that you are here. You will get the know Charles at the beach and Akeem serving you food beach side. All rooms face the ocean. The end room on each floor have just a little window to see the ocean...all other have balconies to sit and see the ocean (just like the website). One cafe that has reasonable prices good food. Free breakfast everyday. Think about renting a small car as the other restaurant are far away. Great beach that is clean and no locals. Also the best place to snorkel is right in front of the Windsong. $5 for masks and flippers. Great stay.

Just returned from an amazing week at the Windsong. If you love to snorkel this is the resort for you. With a very healthy reef just few steps away, you can see parrot fish, porcupine fish, turtles, stingrays, lobster, groupers, tangs, and much more. Every day we went out on the reef we saw something new.

We had an oceanfront suite that had all the amenities from a fully equipped kitchen to a washer/dryer. (Tip: Bring some non-perishable food to save money at the grocery store. Things are expensive.) All the staff are friendly and willing to help you in any way, from recommending things to do or places to go for dinner.

The only disadvantage to the hotel is that Jojo's Cafe is really a breakfast/lunch restaurant. So you do need to go out for dinner. We did not rent a car, but rather used Lige Taxi which was recommended by the hotel. Average round trip to dinner was $20 + tip. We also borrowed bikes from the hotel one day for trip into Grace Bay.

One tip not mentioned in any reviews that I read, if travelling to TCI in September and October be aware that some of the hotels (i.e. Beaches) and restaurants (i.e. Beach House & Magnolia) are closed during the low season.
