“Great experience at The Windsong/Amazing beach and reef”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

If you're planning a trip to Provo, I would highly recommend checking out the Windsong Resort. My partner and I spend a great deal of time researching our vacations and couldn't have been any happier with the choice we made. We spend most of our time snorkeling and scuba diving, and this hotel sits directly in front of Bight Reef, the biggest accessible snorkeling spot on Grace Bay without purchasing a snorkeling day tour. The hotel is located on a more secluded part of the island away from the collection of larger all inclusive type resorts, but everyone at those hotels ends up driving or walking down the beach to come snorkel/swim in front of the Windsong anyways. After your fingers are pruned from snorkeling all morning, walk next door to "Somewhere on the Beach" (Tex-Mex) for quite possibly the best tacos/fajitas we have ever had (and we live in Socal where there's a Mexican restaurant on every corner). There are smaller garden view rooms which are just fine if you don't plan on being in your room all day, but if you want to spend a little more I highly recommend upgrading to one of their amazing ocean view suites. We were given a 1 bedroom suite on the 2nd floor with a wrap around balcony. This suite was bigger than our 2 bedroom condo back home, with huge bathroom, walk-in shower, walk-in closet, kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, and large living room with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that open all the way on 2 sides of the wrap around balconly. Continental breakfast in the morning at the Windsong was perfect. We didn't need anything fancy, since most of our dinner meals were pricey (food in general is very expensive everywhere you go). If you're looking for water activities, everything can be set up directly on the beach with Charles...scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, etc. The staff....super friendly and accomodating, and the tourists staying at the windsong, all very nice and friendly as well. It was perfect! Now, I think a lot of people end up taking cabs everywhere and then complain because it's basically $20 each way. Just rent a car....it will be cheaper and you'll be happier. It's 5 minutes to Turtle Cove, with several great restaurants options...Baci (Italian), Sharkbite (simple bar food), Tiki Hut (chikcken/ribs special) and 5-10 minutes the opposite direction for shopping and other great food options like Caicos Cafe and Coco Bistro. After any long day of sun and great food, we all look forward to a comfortable bed to sleep in, and yes the Windsong passes the test there as well. Their beds are super comfy!! You honesty, can't go wrong with this resort and location.

My brother-in-law, sister, and I stayed here in January, 2012 and loved it. We had a very spacious two-bedroom, 2 bath suite, with large living area and two balconies overlooking the water. The reef is right outside the hotel and the chairs are reserved for Windsong guests. The room was clean, the staff was attentive, it was easy getting transportation into town and getting excursions booked. Definitely would recommending Provo in general, and Windsong as a nice, quiet place to stay. The food was good; not great, but decent. It was quiet and not overrun with children, like the hotels just up the beach from Windsong. Great if you want to relax and not have screaming tikes kicking sand all over everything.

my family stayed at the windsong the second week of June, and the property and staff surpassed all of our expectations. Upon check in we were treated graciously by yadley and the staff, the accomadtions were excellent. The beach is amazing and the proximity to coral gardens reef is a great plus. I am a scuba diver and I really enjoyed daily snorkels and saw a turtle ,angel fish, stingray, groupers ,and huge barracuda to name a few!

Charles on the beach was always available for your all your needs including dinner reservations, snorkel tour reservations, saving you a chair on the beach, suppling my tot nephew with beach toys, and handing out ice cold water. I never saw him with out a smile in his face and a spring in his step. The windsong is truly blessed to have him.

The rest of the staff couldn't have been nicer-we loved our servers Samual; Royal ,Esmalyn, Nick and Jerome! We really enjoyed our continental breakfast at JoJo and we also ordered eggs and bacon for only three dollars each! We had several lunches and one dinner at jojos and really enjoyed the food and service!

The manager Mike was always visible and he stopped and chatted with us daily. We asked if we could get botttles of Charrdonnay because they ran out- and the wine arrived in a few hours. He is truely concerned with his guests experince at the Windsong.

The pool area was very nice with a cool waterfall and a clear side that allows you to view people swimming from the restaurant area. The hotel is new and beautifully decorated and maintained, by 10 am our room was being cleaned.

We have traveled extensively and my husband does not like to repeat-took me 6 years to get him back to turks and caicos- he asked me on the last day when can we come back here? Are you kidding I could live here! I highy reccommended windsong for your next stay on grace bay!

We really enjoyed eating at somewhere right next door to windsong-have the best fish tacos ever-We also enjoyed Mango reef- however felt tiki hut was a complete miss 30 dollars for snapper that didnt seem that fresh! I dove with Flamingo divers-the best dive operator I have come across in 10 years of diving- small boat 8 divers max- and they gave my newbie sister a lot of confidence and a great experience- our dives were incredible nice walls healthy corals and tons of wildlife including cool reef sharks! We also had a fun time with caicos dream tours doing the half day snorkel and conch dive!

Room Tip: a ocean front room is a must the- waking up to that view is pure heavan

We stayed in a 1 BDR Ocean front room and words can not begin to express our stay! The room was beautiful and spacious. The view of the ocean from the room was fabulous. The continental breakfast was sufficient and the staff was great. We first arrived and Yadley was very nice and very helpful. There was also a gentlemen that helped us as well and he was also great ( His name escapes me right now). From our first walk on the property to our departure everything was as beautiful as the pictures on the website. We would definitely come back to this resort.

Room Tip: I would suggest the 1 BDR. We also saw a studio suite and it was quite small but still very nice!

From the moment we arrived and met Ian to our departure with Alandro the experience was fantastic. We have visited 10 Caribbean islands for vacations and Turks and Caicos is top 2 . All beaches and scenery in these islands roughly the same but the T and C locals really want your your business and earn it. Hotel staff so grateful to have you as a guest, townies asked to help us when they thought our scooter broke down, upon departure from airport an employee there publicly thanks us for visiting their island. Only downside of T and C is prices. Everything but fish are imported, hence costly. Recommend getting a form of transportation to explore and just get to other restaurants.

Room Tip: Be sure to spend the extra to get beach view.

Just returned from a short trip, my first to Turks & Caicos. We booked the 2 bedroom, ocean-view penthouse and I don't think I can even put into words how beautiful it was. From the pictures on the Windsong website, I was expecting it to be pretty amazing. But, in person it is even better if possible. The views were simply amazing, and we really enjoyed our own private rooftop jacuzzi.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we set foot on the property, even though we arrived 2 hours prior to check in we were immediately taken to our suite. Everyone who we passed said hello with a very warm smile, and the head maid took close to 30 minutes giving us a "tour" of our room.

I think there are only about 40 rooms / suites at this hotel, and I think it was maybe about half full. But, it was so nice - we often felt like we had to pool or restaurant to ourselves, but at the same time did run into and meet a few of the other people staying there. Even if completely full, I would imagine that it is probably just about as peaceful and relaxing as it was during our stay.

Our first night there, we had dinner at JoJo's - the restaurant at the hotel. I thought the prices were very reasonable and my dinner was delicious - grouper with a shrimp sauce. We did go to the grocery store to purchase food to cook in our room, however we ended up eating out the next two nights just because we really wanted to try some of the local restaurants. The second night, we had dinner at Hemingway's and both the food and atmosphere were amazing. Very laid back and informal. Our last night, we had dinner at Coco Bistro and again the food and atmosphere were wonderful - I honestly cannot think of one negative thing to say about the island, the food, the hotel, or the staff.

The beach and water were both magnificent - very soft sand, beautiful, crystal-clear turquoise water with almost no rocks, and very calm with hardly any waves. The reef off the beach right at the hotel was also amazing - I snorkeled several times each day. Travelers from resorts all down the beach also came to ours each day to check out the reef. Charles was terrific, making sure that the beach chairs (there were plenty) were only being used by those staying at the Windsong. He also offered to help us book any trip that we were interested in, but we didn't take him up on it because we just didn't want to leave our beautiful hotel and beach. He came by a few times each day with bottled water for all of the guests on the beach. Alecia, who works at JoJo's, was also amazing - so friendly and accomodating and just generally seemed happy to see us each time we ate there.

I have traveled a lot and this is the first time I have ever been so impressed with a hotel that I wanted to write a review. I cannot say enough how truly amazing this resort it, if you are looking for complete relaxation at a beautiful facility with a beautiful beach then this place is for you!

Room Tip: The ocean-front penthouses are SO worth the extra cost, you won't regret booking one of them!

We stayed at the Windsong for a week last November - only just catching up with reviews! The hotel is only about 15 minutes from the airport. We had a room at the back of the property so no ocean view or balcony and no option to upgrade when we arrived. This was our fault as we should have booked an ocean view when we arrived. However, the room was large and it was great having a little kitchen to prepare snacks. The standard of cleanliness was very high.

The staff at the hotel were really helpful and helped us book a rental car which you need in the Turks to get around. We went out for dinner a few nights and also did a trip to the supermarket to buy some drinks and basic food for lunch, etc. The restaurant a couple of doors up from the hotel which we only found on the last night was fantastic and nicer and more fun that some of the more expensive restaurants in the town.

The best part of the hotel is the fact that you are so close to the beach and a really good snorkelling site which kept us entertained for hours.

Whilst we really enjoyed the holiday, the Turks and Caicos is very quiet - a great place for some peace and quiet - but seven nights was probably too many for us.
