“one word....PARADISE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2011

Arriving at the Turks and Caicos international airport, you really dont know what to expect when you leave the plane. Waiting for our luggage was horrendous, customs officer was obnoxious and overall very clustered place to be in when starting you vacation. finally got outside and was met by a concierge agent from the Regent Palms who helped us with getting a taxi van from the airport. Was told by our travel agent that shuttle service was complimentary, (not so).

My wife and I were finally on our way to the resort. We were met with tropical juice and cold towels (perfect touch) and so many smiling faces. We were not the only persons arriving and yet we were met in a welcoming manner. Our room was not ready as yet so we were taken to the poolside bar and grill by a young gentleman (think his name was Desmond). He was also a concierge agent and a delight to speak with. After a few drinks at the bar, my wife was truly in a relaxed state of mind and i was eating a fantastic pizza. Ethan at the bar and grill was great. After about an hour or so, a very bubbly young lady, Francis, escorted us to our room. She was also a pleasure to speak with and answered alot of the questions we had. We had an ocean front suite and i must say it was perfect! After getting a tour of the room, my wife and I settled in to truly start our vacation.
Throughout our entire stay, we were treated like royalty. Richard at the pool and beach was outstanding. Spa was fantastic! Had a great swedish massage and my wife enjoyed the hot rocks.

Overall, the staff's wonderful attitude and beautiful resort truly made for a memorable vacation and we will be back next year!

I've been to The Regent Palms Resort twice in the last two years and I absolutely love it ! It is situated on beautiful Grace Bay, white sand beach and green/turquoise water. The suites are very large, nicely decorated, comfortable and offer fantastic views the ocean. You'll definitely get a good night sleep here. The gardens and lush grounds are meticulously maintained. The beautifully palmed pool area boasts an infinity pool with swim up bar, large jacuzzi and The Plunge restaurant makes this a great place to relax and enjoy lunch. If you want to lay on the beach let the beach staff escort you to a cabana and they'll also be happy to bring you a refreshment or cocktail from the bar.
The staff are always friendly, helpful and accommodating so if there's anything you may need just ask.

My sister and I selected the Regent Palms for a 5-night getaway to relax and enjoy the beach. The hotel beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Crystal clear, calm waters and white sand. The hotel has a generous number of cabanas to sit under should you desire some shade from the sun - we never had a problem finding an open chair on the beach. The room was incredibly luxurious with full sized kitchen and a large deck with comfortable lounge fit for 2 people. I expected my "ocean VIEW" room to have a view of the ocean and was disappointed to find that it did not - it is definitely a view of the pool. The room view description is not accurate. If you want an ocean view, you should get an "ocean FRONT" room.
Hotel service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and inviting. Food was ok at the hotel. I enjoyed the ambiance of Parallel 23 [lit palm trees and nightly local music] much more than the food. I recommend exploring restaurants elsewhere - we loved Magnolia restaurant & wine bar - excellent food and view!!
While the pool is nice, it is mostly over run by kids in the afternoon, so head to the beach.
Overall, we had a great time and would return - this time to an ocean front room.

We loved our honeymoon!!! Romantic! Romantic! Romantic! We had champagne, fruit platter with chocolate dip, and cookies waiting for us. That first night we had petals leading to our bedroom with towels shaped into swans shaped into a heart on our bed with petals everywhere. It was gorgeous! We had the best view and the Regent Palms has the best beach. We had an expresso machine in our suite and had all the fixins for the perfect cup of joe. We loved it so much we brought one when we returned home. You can get fins and snorkel gear right there on the beach and walk up to Coral Gardens for some great snorkeling. I saw a huge Parrot Fish when I was there. I love the cabanas on the beach. They come around with scented mist (free), fruit pops (free) and I ordered a pina colada, too. The pool is the best on the island. It is so unbelieveble! Very warm! We even took a swim in the pool at 10:30pm and had no problems. We definitely want to come back next year. It's worth saving up for!

We have been visiting this hotel for many years. Grace bay beach has to be one of the best beaches in the world. Still great sand and super swimming. A good percentage of the staff is Filipino which gives the service and edge over other hotels. They work hard to meet your needs.
However, what needs work is general appearance of hotel needs updating both internally and externally. The complimentary breakfast is still uninspiring and needs more protein choices. They should also let you take it to your room. We tend to have most meals off campus? Eating at the Plunge during the day is so hot. Dinner is better. At night we were annoyed when the housekeeping staff kept turning air down so we would return to a humid room. Our hot tub was never filled. Overall we love this place but hope that they do not let too many services go and make some capital investments.

If you are looking to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet in one of the most beautiful places - this place is for you. I run a travel agency and have rarely come across a property as nice as the Regent Palms.

The rooms are unbeliveable! We stayed in a one bedroom ocean front suite. The furnishings were top of the line. The beach views from the huge corner deck have got to be the best in Turks & Caicos. Food is very expensive here, but because the expansive kitchen in your room has every appliance and cooking utensil you need, we went to the grocery store and bought snacks and food for lunch. This suite was more like an ocean-front home away from home because there was tons of room and you had everything right at your fingertips.

A few places we enjoyed dinner were the Coco Bistro (great food and service), Mango Reef (right next door - great food, slow service, awesome views), Parallel 23 (a top of the line dining experience).

I would also recommend a half day snorkeling package with Turks & Caicos Dream Tours. It was $80 per person but was a great way to break up the trip, explore the islands, and have some fun. You can either sign up through the concierge or go directly to their booth on the beach next to the hotel.

We also enjoyed an afternoon at the spa. This is another one-of-a-kind feature of this hotel. If you come here, you need to give it a try. I am not a "spa person" but really enjoyed this experience. The facility and staff are excellent.

So if you are coming here for some peace and relaxation. You will be glad you chose to stay at the Regent Palms.

We are currently at the Regent Palms in Providenciales. While our experience with the property started out ok, over the last day our interaction with the staff has lead to a downgrade and an early review.

Beach: The beaches in Grace Bay (essentially all the properties have similar beachfront) are spectacular. The water is pristine. The sand is soft. There are practically no waves due to the stretch of reef along the coast. There are plenty of chairs on the beach. As far as shaded seating, there is a row of 2-person cabanas that provide decent shade in the morning. In the afternoon, it is difficult to adjust the chair and cabana to be entirely covered up. Additionally, the cabanas are right next to each other, resulting in little privacy. Umbrella service would have been nice. Drink service at the beach is rare (several times during the day), despite fairly high drink prices. The staff working at the towel/water sports station are excellent.

Pool: The pool is beautiful, with lots of seating. However, the water is uncomfortably warm and in the afternoons the pool is taken over by kids. If you are coming with children, they will probably like it. Otherwise, I do not recommend it.

Room: We have a garden view suite. The room is ok (nothing to write home about). It's clean and well maintained. Housekeeping is hit or miss. Some days they did a great job, other days they basically just made the bed (despite tips left early on). There has been a tray with someone's leftovers in the hallway for more than 12 hours (housekeeping came by and did not remove it). Although, Wifi is present at the pool, the signal in our room is non-existent. There is wired ethernet, which works perfectly well (hotel provides cable). The toiletries are not very good; I recommend you bring your own.

Food: There are two restaurants on the property: Parallel23 and Plunge. P23 is the fancy restaurant with entrees around $40. The food was ok. The service was mediocre, especially for the price. Continental breakfast served at P23 consists of some pastries, several cereals (milk is left out on the counter without ice for duration of breakfast service), yogurt and granola and fresh fruit. Plunge is the pool-side restaurant. Again, the food was ok. We were eating here from time to time (burgers, salads, etc.) until yesterday. My wife requested a grilled cheese sandwich (item is only present on the children's menu, not the adults menu), and the waiter informed her that the chef issued a policy stating that adults cannot order form the children's menu. We insisted that we have ordered the item before, and we were willing to pay for "adult menu prices" (burger is about $17). My wife is pregnant and is trying to limit seafood, lunch meats, etc, and you can only have so many burgers before you are sick of them. We explained this to the waiter. Nonetheless, we were turned away. After we had lunch at a neighboring property (Bay Bistro and Mango Reef are good options), my wife went to the front desk to let them know about this new policy. They apologized and stated that the food service manager would call us. No one called. This is pretty much the reason we are writing this review. FYI, both restaurants automatically add a 15% gratuity to every bill. The experience has been frustrating and insulting. I am still in disbelief that they treat guests this way.

Spa: My wife has not yet been, but we have heard good things. The facility is beautiful and making an appointment was easy. As far as the experience, we will see.

Caicos Dream snorkeling tour was fantastic. We did the full day trip which included a barbecue on Ft. George. Snorkeling was beautiful. Captain was great and the barbecue was excellent. We also did some snorkeling at Coral Gardens (20 minute walk), which was spectacular.

Overall, we would definitely return to the island, but we would not return to this resort.
