After renting bicycles from another outfit we decided it would be fun to upgrade to a scooter. We had rode our bikes past Paradise Scooters and thought it looked like a better run outfit. Well, we were right. I called to get some info and Larry gave me the scoop on what they offered. Within 45 minutes John showed up to pick us up at our hotel. He gave us a brief history lesson about T&C on the way to the shop. Once there he handed us off to Larry. It probably took all of 15 minutes to do the paperwork and for Larry to outline the "Unguided-Guided Tour" on a map for us. Another 5 minutes (about noon) and we were on our way on our shiny red Vespa. Riding on the left was way easier than most folks make it out to be (although my wife was a bit anxious at times). We followed the sharpie marks on the map and had a blast. The Conch Farm, lunch at Boogaloo's (delicious and unique), Chalk Sound and a view of one humongous house. That is, until it started pouring rain. We ducked under a couple of gas station awnings and into a grocery store for some cover. But then we thought, Hey it's warm, we're wet, let's just go for it. A short ride dodging some big puddles and we were back at our hotel.
Since we had the scooter for 24 hours we ventured out for breakfast at Bay Bistro at Sibonne and then out to explore more of Provo. We saw pretty much all of the island. I would recommend a scooter as THE WAY to see the island. And the ONLY place to rent one is Paradise Scooters.
