“Perfect Get-away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

The Alexandra Resort is the best overall value on Grace Bay Beach. It is not the most luxurious of the resorts on Grace Bay, but its amenities are plentiful, the grounds are beautiful, the service is top notch, the rooms are more than sufficient, the beach is amazing, and the resort does have a essence of elegance. Stay for as long as your job / funds will let you. I stayed for 11 days and would enjoy more time there. Food is great at Mango Reef Restaurant, but Coco Bistro is a world class, unique dining experience. You must eat dinner here. Make sure to visit Smith's Reef for snorkeling and Salt Cay if you have time.

Room Tip: Unless you are in an ocean front room, shoot for 3rd or 4th level rooms as they also have good ocean...

We appreciate your acknowledgement of the value that the Alexandra Resort offers. Thanks for noting the many positive aspects of the resort as well, particularly our service and the condition of the property. Our team works very hard to offer a consistent top notch experience and it sounds like you received that! We hope you will stay with us again.

Just got back from a perfect beach vacation! Stayed in a room # 2206 which is a studio deluxe with beautiful ocean view. The room was clean and it was very nice to have the kitchenette. My husband and I are used to staying in more opulent all inclusive resorts so we were a bit disappointed when we got to our room. The beach, restaurants and excursions quickly changed our minds. To wake up to this beautiful beach and warm, friendly staff was wonderful. The restaurant on site, Mango Reef is delicious as are the drinks at the bar. Shout out to bartenders, Andersen and Mikey who were very friendly and entertaining! We never stayed at the pool, only the beach everyday. Never had a problem getting chairs, towels, umbrellas! We did go to the market to stock up on some snacks, drinks, breakfast, lunch items. Their is a shuttle service to the local IGA that goes every evening. We did take the complimentary limo to Blue Haven and had dinner there. Definitely
worth doing. BH is a beautiful, new resort which also has a great bar. Also, it is right on the beach, as are most of the recommended restaurants.

Room Tip: I think building 1 and 2 are the best for ocean views!

This is the third time that I have stayed there and I have stayed at three other resorts in the 5 times that I have been to Provo. When it is all said and done, this place is a great combination of location, activity and value. You can really do your vacation how ever you want. Rent a car, ride a bike, take the shuttle, etc. You have many choices here. The resort staff and the staff of the Mango Reef are also absolutely fabulous. All units have cooking facilities so you can manage breakfast and lunch in your room or on your balcony, so it doesn't cost an arm and a leg time and money-wise.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a great view but I love the ocean front rooms best.

Just spent a week at the Alexandra in a Studio Unit.We spent an extended night in a (1) bedroom unit with a full kitchen. I would recommend upgrading to that option if its in your budget. Both were garden views which meant you looked over the pool and could see a bit of the ocean beyond.
We were fortunate enough to cash in a boat load of Delta Miles and the room was paid for- in order to do this you need to dig pretty deep into Delta's Market place on their website. Well worth it.

The Alexandra is clean comfortable and well appointed, I rank it above the El Conquistador Resort in Peurto Rico ( This felt a bit tired when I went last year) and just below the Hyatt Regency in Maui. Alexandra is relatively small- not flashy- but fit us just right. But we were looking to be low key.
The Highlight is definitely the staff.
Incredibly friendly and helpful, service exceeded our expectations.

Mango Reef restaurant has a fantastic Thai Tuna salad and excellent specials. We had a majority of our meals on the property usually accompanied by a Turks Head Amber- Great local beer or a Mango Mojito.

The gym was OK at best- we spent- a lot of time walking the beach instead.

We were in walking distance to Mr. Groupers - a great local eatery and Salt Mills for shopping and a beer. I also spent some time at Pot Cake Place the local puppy rescue- You can borrow a pup for a few hours- this helps their socialization skills.

This was our Third trip to the Island- always lovely, layed back and too short of a stay.
I do believe this is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

I can't stress enough the context of this review- we were looking for quiet, layed-back , low stress,
never get dressed up kind of vacation so it was perfect for us.
Hope this helps!

Room Tip: Some of the Guest used VRBO. We were in building 4- The Marilyn on the second floor- incredibly con...

Stayed here for a week, restaurant is excellent as is beach and pool. Gym is serviceable, but limited. Rooms are very nice, clean and great location. Staff is friendly is helpful We often stay at full service, 5 star resorts and found this to be a nice change. Its a bit of a walk from main downtown- mile by street, 3/4 mile by beach (taxi's are plentiful) but the downtown in grace bay is pretty limited so you won't have an urge to go "poke around" every day. Never go around to checking out the spa.

I stayed there for 5 nights in December, and it was a pleasant stay. The beach is amazing, and so is the onsite restaurant, Mango Reef. There is a pool, but no jacuzzi and no kids pool. The gym is sufficient- not that large, but there is a decent treadmill and bike machine and free weights.

Room Tip: Good location- adjacent to Regent Palms Spa and Beaches

We wanted to get away just after Christmas and spend New Year somewhere warm. Provo is the easiest place on earth to get to from the east coast. We decided on Alexandra based on some reviews and knowing the location.

We found the Studio Island View to be fine except in one very annoying way. There is no dresser in the room and the space is poorly arranged. The wire shelving in the closet is too high and one of the lower shelves is used mostly for the safe. There is a chair and stool in the room that is generally in the way and usually occupied by the decorative pillows and such from the bed.

Outside the room the property is very nice and well maintained.

We were pleased to encounter some of the Mango Reef staff from our last stay on the island in June 2010 at a different property. In fact, the Mango Reef picture on Trip Advisor is from the prior location.

Our stay was just the relaxing trip we hoped for, until we arrived at the airport. I see that some work is being done, but the departure process and lounge area are exactly the same as they have been forever, and that isn't good. The number of flights has increased but the departure capacity has not. Until I read news of big improvements at the airport, Provo is a no go.

My GF went to the spa for a manicure and was very disappointed. It seems the gel that was applied to her nails was also applied to her fingers.

Room Tip: Building 3, fourth floor for the view. Also avoids afternoon sun on the balcony for comfort.

Thank you for your positive feedback. We are sorry to read about the inconvenience you experienced with regards to a dresser in your room. We will assess options to improve facilities in the studio suites in the building that you stayed in (most of our studio suites do have dressers.) We do not operate Spa Sanay but will share your feedback with them regarding your manicure experience. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Once completed, the airport renovations will include a larger departure lounge We hope you will visit Turks and Caicos again once the airport renovation (scheduled for end of 2014) is completed.
