“Good place to stay if you are looking for an apartment type rental.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012 via mobile

Modern and new resort. Remote and private location. We felt safe the whole tome. The kitchen has everything you need. The amenities are great and it is only 10 mins walk from the beach. The studio is on the small side but it does the trick. Here are my recommendations: GET A CAR. Also, if you are looking for concierge service, phone in your room, room service or room cleaning, stay somewhere else.

Atrium resort was everything and more we could have expected. Beautiful building , gorgeous grounds, excellent
Penthouse suite with amazing views seeing the ocean from three different angles . Having the kitchen in our suite was a change for how we usually travel with all inclusives. Grocery stores were nearby for all our needs a little more pricey then home but worth the good food. The beach was a little ten minute walk but one of the nicest on whole island. You should rent a car we used Grace Bay as you get a deal when you tell them your staying at Atrium. Everywhere we visited on the island was always just a ten minute drive . The food at all the different restaurants was always top notch as well as the service . Super nice people the Turks Islanders as they like to be called.. If your looking for privacy and quiet I highly recommend this resort. We can't wait until we can return to our new found paradise!! We miss you already!!

The best way to describe The Atrium Resort is that it is a diamond in the rough. We arrived in late March on a Monday afternoon, and were taken to our room by a kind security staff member. The room, a studio w/queen bed was small, but the furnishings were modern and stylish which offset the size. My first advice to anyone booking at the Atrium is to forget the studio. We stayed two nights, but encountered several problems. First, the refrigerator stayed barely above room temperature, and the television kept flashing a message every 1/2 hour that the owner hadn't payed their bill and that the service would be shutoff within days. Both were major annoyances.

I want to be fair in my assessment of this place, so don't go into this resort thinking that you are getting 24 hour front desk service when inconveniences like this arise. In our four days there, we barely saw the concierge. 80 percent of the time if there's a grievance, it will be heard by the security guards that roam the property. We reported the refrigerator incident to security, and they left a note for the front desk. The matter was never taken care of. It was then out of pure frustration that we decided to upgrade to the one bedroom. And let me tell you, it is one helluva upgrade. The difference between a studio and the one bedroom at the atrium is like going from a phone booth to a ranch style house. It's that much bigger and well worth the extra money. Trust me on this one.

I know management tends to read reviews here on TripAdvisor, so let me dispense some advice. I feel that the pool, the 1 bedroom and the grounds are beautiful, but if certain changes are made this resort can easily rise to the level of the 4 star beachfront resorts that line Grace Bay.

1. Leave a sign at the front desk that supplies a phone number or hours that front desk personnel are available to address any concerns.

2. The beds are in SERIOUS need of upgrades. Whether it was the studio or the one bedroom, the mattresses were on the hard side. It was amazing to us that you are surrounded by expensive granite and marble in your kitchen and bathroom, yet the least amount of attention was given to a good night's sleep? Puzzling....

I now want to end on a positive note that I haven't brought up. The beach that is across from the resort (btw, it is a good 15 minute walk, but you did rent a car right?) is spectacular and one of the best on the island. It doesn't have the crowds of the beachfront Grace Bay resorts, and the Atrium supplies beach chairs and Umbrellas. Kudos to them.

In conclusion, with just a few minor adjustments I think this place could elevate their status greatly on T&C. I hope they read this review and implement these changes. There is great potential here, don't squander it!

Room Tip: Get a room close to the pool with a balcony, either 1 or 2 bedrooms or penthouse. DO not rent a stud...

I have to agree with several other reviewers. The Atrium is a fairly new facility that looks like it had high hopes but suffered with the economy down turn. We stayed in a one bedroom, one den (bedroom) unit. All the appliances were new. There's a washer & dryer which is a nice feature. The pool is very nice and well maintained. The grounds are also well kept. It's fairly quiet at night for sleeping, except if the "Blue Note Lounge" on the property has a band - then don't think you'll get much sleep if you leave your widows open. As others have pointed out... Make sure you rent a car. If you plan on eating out, you'll need it to get to any restaurant. I think the closest restaurant is Opus which you could walk to if it's not too hot. The island has some great restaurants that you shouldn't miss. The unit we had had a full kitchen, so you could prepare your own food each day - not my idea of a vacation. Please note, the closest, decent size grocery store is several miles away, so if you don't rent a car, keeping stocked and cooking in might be a problem. The beach is not close. When you travel to a Carribean island, you most likely think of being either on the beach or very near it. You can walk to it (8-10 minutes), but there are no restroom facilities. You can also drive to the beach which we did daily. This way you can transport food, drinks and water toys. Back to the Atrium. They have a beautiful swim up bar in the pool, but it's just a shell. It was never finished. There were a number of days that it would have be nice to enjoy a special rum drink. I would swim up and sit on the pool bar stools and dream that I was having a Piña Colada. To sum it up, the Atrium is a nice, clean and relatively new place. It is not a resort in the true sense of the word.

This resort exceeded all expectations! We originally had a studio, however, once there we were disappointed it did not have a balcony or patio! We decided to upgrade to the penthouse. It was well worth it. The two story, two bedroom penthouse is beyond beautiful. The views from the terrace were breathtaking. The resort is clean, modern, spacious with beautiful landscaping.
As others have mentioned, it does not offer much at this time in regards to dining, activities, etc. However, for us, it was exactly what we were looking for. A relaxing, quiet, no stress vacation. Peaceful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The beach is a very short walking distance and there were approximately 12 beach lounge chairs with umbrellas. It is a lovely secluded beach area. We never had a problem getting a chair. The resort does provide in your room beach towels, so don't bring your own.

You can walk along the beach to Grace Bay. Not far at all and once there it made us appreciate Pelican beach even more. Once in Grace bay, it starts to get crowded.

If you stay at the Atrium, you do need to rent a car if you plan to go out to dinner, food shopping or just exploring the island. There is nothing around within walking distance. And the resort offers free parking.

This place is an excellent value in Turks and Caicos. I would never consider any other resort when we go back.

The food at the IGA was incredibly expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring some goodies from home if you plan to cook.

There were no ice trays in the freezer.

And the personnel at the Atrium were simply wonderful.

Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Studio does not have balcony or patio.

My husband and I stayed in a studio apartment on the first floor for one week, and it was great! The apartment is not big but we loved its modern design, comfortable sleeping area, and fully equipped kitchen. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the room since we left early morning for the beach and didn’t come back until the evening. On nights that we stayed in, we used the kitchen to prepare dinner and enjoyed the Satellite TV.
The resort itself is newly built, it has a beautifully designed heated pool with a swim up bar, a gym, and a big conference room. The staff was accommodating, friendly and helpful. A café that opened during our stay offered coffee, sandwiches and other snacks and a night club was under construction. The resort is located in a very quiet and secluded area, 5-7 minutes walk to the beach. The resort staff brings lounge chairs and umbrellas to the beach for the use of its guests.
Tip to first time visitors: rent a car! The island has many gorgeous beaches, restaurants and shopping plazas, but they are scattered around the island and you will need a car to be able to explore everything that Providenciales has to offer.
We had a great time! and would happily stay at The Atrium again and recommend it to others!!!
