My husband and I stayed at the Sibonne in October 2005, and it was a great little hotel.
Its RIGHT on the beach, and the beach was virtually deserted when we visited. The sea is crystal clear and the sand white and clean.
The attatched restuarant,Bay Bistro was wonderfull too. The food was expertly prepared by Craig from Scotland, who was most helpful with any requests for food differing from the menu.
While we were there there was the tail end of a hurricane about, and after a spectacular storm one evening, all the power went off. But it was not a problem and indeed added to the whole experience!!
A gem on an island that is currently being built on in a big way. Lots of condo blocks going up. I fear Sibonne might get swallowed up by the big boys, but I hope not as it was a truly divine little oasis on Grace Bay. And cheap too!!

This is an older hotel, one of the first ever built on the island (formerly Le Dec). For a 2 star hotel it has a lot of pluses. Great Restaurant. Beautiful grounds. Rooms are clean and decently appointed. The best part is the locatin on the beach...the best....had a great time and enjoyed it. Very reasonably priced as well. Definately a good 2 1/2 star property......I would not reccommend this to someone looking for luxury but a budget minded traveler who wants a nice beach escape without breaking the bank. I did like the hotel,,,not much to do on the island so bring a good book.

There is no better deal on Grace Bay than the Sibonne. Small, intimate, beachy and clean, this hotel gives the flavor of what Provo was like years before the condoization began. Well furnished rooms, close the the beach and with a great bar and restaurant attached, you cannot beat the atmosphere at Sibonne. If glitz and "South Beach" is what you want there are plenty of condo's but the Sibonne will not fit your needs. Also, although it does not discourage kids, I wouldn't bring my 11 and 12 year olds here, it's too quite, quaint and cute for them, but it was great for me.

My son and I went for a quickie dive trip and researched many places. Sibonne seemed to fit the bill in more ways than one. The pictures on their web site do not do the hotel justice, it is much more picturesque that that. The Bistro restaurant is open air and looks out over the beach and ocean -- it's gorgeous and the food is excellent. Continental breakfast is free and fine or you can order the full eggs, bacon etc for $7. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Spring for an extra $20 a nite and get the ocean view (second floor). They have a nice balcony overlooking the lush garden courtyard and the ocean is just beyond. The beach is super with thached umbrellas and pleanty of lounge chairs. If you are looking for a romantic small hotel with a quiet atmosphere, this is the place. I can't find anything bad to say about it and the price is definately a deal. As far as other reataurent options, I recommend the Gecko Grill (it would be a TOP restaurant in ANY major US city) and Magnolia (nice outdoor hilltop view of the harbor). Book it and ENJOY!!!

I did a lot of research on Turks and Caicos before my trip. I wanted to find a small hotel on the beach at a good price. I was excited to find the Sibonne. The good reviews seemed to be from people similar to me and the bad ones seemed petty.

I arrived mid-October and stayed a week. I was very satisified with my choice - it was just as described and the pictures were accurate. The value room was fine as I spent my time outside. The refrigerator and extra mirror in the bathroom were appreciated. The hotel and grounds are clean and well maintained, the staff was pleasant and helpful. The garden is lush and green. The pool is nice but never used because the beach is so close. There were always plenty of lounge chairs and shade and fresh beach towels are available all day. The beach is not crowded in the off season so it's very quiet and relaxing.

The restaurant, Bay Bistro, serves delicious food (freshly caught lobster the first night). The chef is from Scotland and very personable and Junior at the bar was a lot of fun. The continental breakfast was toast, banana bread, 2 pieces of fruit, juice and coffee - more than adequate to start the day and more than I usually get in the US. Your meal is accompanied by a fabulous view.

I met the nicest people at the Sibonne - from Germany, England and the US. All were having a good time and some extended their stay. Guests included singles, couples, one family with a small child, a group celebrating a birthday and wedding parties. I ventured out to eat at the Aqua at the marina (fabulous) and Hemmingways (loud and no music), had a massage at Point Grace, visited the conch farm (interesting), shopped at Ports of Call and took a half day snorkel cruise with J&B (saw JoJo the dolphin).

There is a lot of construction on Provo and Grace Bay so I suggest that you go soon. Stay at the Sibonne if you want a nice, simple, clean, older hotel with character right on the beach. If you want a new, fancy hotel with lots of amenities you should chose elsewhere. Simplify your life - enjoy the incredible turquoise water, talk a walk, relax and release your stress at the Sibonne. I didn't want to leave and will return.
