“Ganesvoort = Perfect Honeymoon!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

We had an amazing time in Turks and Caicos and our stay at the Ganesvoort was perfect! My wife and I stayed there for 8 days and wanted to stay 30 more. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with warm towels and tropical drinks until the last day that we checked out, the staff at the Ganesvoort were very friendly and wanted to make sure that we were getting the most out of our vacation.

The rooms and the property were in immaculate condition and were well maintained. The view from our 2nd level terrace of the beach were breathtaking. On the days that we wanted to sleep in, we enjoyed the automatic blackout shades that lowered all the way to the floor to block out the sunlight.

I could go on and on about the things we liked, but I am just going to list the highlights for us here: modern design, the views of Grace Bay, easy beach access, walkable distance to fantastic snorkeling (Bight Reef - good, Smith Reef - better), closest property to the Thursday night Fish Fry, world class staff and service, amazing and comfortable pool, fulfilling breakfast every day until 10:30am, the restaurant Stelle for dinner, complimentary bicycle rentals, DVD checkout service for the days you want to relax in your room, the activities they planned during inclement weather, and the beds were really comfortable!

The Ganesvoort has many options for both the traveler looking to relax and also for people that want to be active. The concierge were very helpful with dinner reservations at local restaurants, and offered advise and tips for our excursions that included scuba diving. The security guards that helped us with taxis were also very helpful with recommendations for activities.

We will be back!

Room Tip: We had a room with a terrace to sit out and enjoy the views of Grace Bay. I bet the pool view rooms...

Dear Speez77,

Thank you for the great review. It sounds like you made the most of your trip to paradise and we are thrilled to have made this possible. We’ll make our team aware of your kind sentiments and we all look forward to seeing you again. Since you seem like the adventurous type, check out our “Fish + Dish” special offer for an exciting package deal. You’ll be able to deep-sea fish on a boating excursion, and your catch will be prepared Caribbean or Mediterranean style at Stelle. This is just one of many options that allow you to explore the gorgeous island even further. We look forward to your return!

Are you overworked, the kids are driving you nuts and you are completely stressed out? Well, book your next trip at The Gansevoort! My husband and I had the most tranquil vacation here. We left the kid with Grandma and the worries back in NY and plunked down at The Gansevoort for 4 nights.
Situated away from the other resorts in a sort of private stretch of Grace Bay, it felt secluded and romantic.
The service of the staff is top notch. They are the friendliest bunch I've ever met. The service starts the moment you exit customs. You are greeted with a bottle of water and shown to your taxi or private car. Upon arrival at the hotel, you are welcomed with a towel and an iced cold beverage of your choice. We were given a bottle of prosecco in our room as we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and had mentioned it.

The breakfast buffet was well stocked with a variety of items and an omelette bar.

While I don't think you can go wrong with any of the rooms, the ocean front rooms are definitely worth it. The rooms are on the larger scale and the one that we had came with a kitchenette. We definitely heated up some leftover meals from dinner.

My only observation was that everything is a la carte. You have to pay for the beach beds, the center pods at the pool and classes at Exhale. It didn't affect my stay because I chose not to use those any of those services. It is definitely not a budget friendly place. Expect to pay NY prices, I.E. $15 for a cocktail etc. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would go back in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Do opt to upgrade to Ocean front if yu can!

We chose Turks and Caicos after a work friend raved about the beauty and the ease of getting there from Boston (nonstop flights from Logan). We chose the Gansevoort based on the TA reviews. Neither disappointed. This was a 5 day "mini-moon" after our wedding, and we really just wanted to collapse and rest. The hotel itself was spectacular with a very clean, modern line and design that fit our sensibilities perfectly. The resort was spotless and the staff among the most gracious and proactive we've ever encountered.
The beach was pristine, white and turquoise with sugar sand. No jellyfish, or any other impediments to enjoying a perfect beach/swim experience.
The food in the restaurant, Stelle, was very good. Breakfast each morning was included in the price. Don't miss the wonderful omelet-lady! The breakfast choices weren't as good as most we've enjoyed at Caribbean resorts. The fruit selection was very modest (no mango or guava) and there was no fish selection for breakfast. Heavy on breads, and meaty American fried offerings. One of our few complaints, but would love to see a broader selection of more regional offers.
We also had dinner at Stelle one night. It was excellent, and I'd recommend dining there even if you weren't staying at the hotel. The atmosphere was outstanding as well as the food and wine.
We ate lunch every day at the beach café. The Greek Salad was exceptional, as was the hamburger. Generally, top scores for all the food and drink.
I also highly recommend taking advantage of the yoga/barre classes each morning and weekday evenings. I purchased the $60 all-you-can-take for a week package and it was well worth it. The classes are tough, but well attended and an excellent way to offset the mojitos.
The spa looked wonderful, but was extremely expensive, so we passed.
All in all, an outstanding hotel in a lovely and relaxing location. I highly recommend.

Room Tip: We were in 2309 which was a suite and had a corner balcony overlooking the beach. Highly recommend...

My husband & I stayed at the Gansevoort for five nights while on our honeymoon. It was our first trip to TCI. We booked an ocean view studio throught luxury link. When we first arrived, things are admittedly a little chaotic as there were several people also trying to check in. We had to wait for about 30 minutes before our room was ready, and even then there were still people cleaning when we arrived. The room was nice, clean with an awesome porch with a somewhat obstructed view of the ocean. No tub in our room, but the shower was great. Breakfast was included and although it was the same every morning, there was plenty of options including someone to make omelette and eggs. We didn't eat at the hotel for lunch or dinner. Concierge was great with helping us with plans and everyone who worked at the hotel was pleasant and helpful. Beach was pristine and included use of paddle boards, Snorkeling equipment & kayaks. The hotel is located on Grace bay, but it's not within walking distance of any restaurants or shops. We rented a car for three days and a Vespa for our last two days instead of taking cabs everywhere (which can get expensive). Most of the other guests seemed to be from the ny/nj area. Besides one group of rowdy, loud guests, the hotel was peaceful and relaxing. We did find that housekeeping was lacking towards the end of our stay - taking towels but not leaving more, not refilling things, etc but overall was very happy with our stay! We are already planning our next trip back!

Most accommodating hotel I've ever stayed at. Its a smaller boutique resort which makes for a more intimate vacation experience. Definitely conducive to couples who just want to "get away" and relax. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was perfect! The MindBody classes were a great way to start the mornings followed by a free breakfast buffet stocked with a variety of foods. This resort is a little out of the way from the Regent Village and other activities so if you plan to get out a lot then I would suggest renting a car. The ocean front suite comes with a mini kitchen and many kitchen utensils, including a microwave, toaster, oven, stove top, disposal, coffee maker, blender, refrigerator, freezer, plates, cups, wine opener, knife set, spatula, etc. The grocery store is about a 3 minute car ride away. If you plan to cook in I would definitely suggest this suite because it is stocked with everything you need!

Dear Drekali,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re delighted you enjoyed our upscale, island atmosphere and hope you’ll come back for more! If you do, enjoy another evening at Stelle overlooking the oceanfront, while indulging in more delicious signature dishes like Caicos lobster linguine or Opal Valley lamb loin. As far as other nightlife options, the Casablanca Casino in the heart of Grace Bay is popular among guests, as well as the rum bar at Da Conch Shack, which features live music. Just ask our concierge team for details upon your return.

Best,

Just returned from our first trip to Turks and Caicos, and am looking forward to booking my next stay at Gansevoort. If you are looking for a budget friendly getaway, this is not it....but it was worth every penny. The hotel is located on the most amazing stretch of Grace Bay, you feel as if you are in your own private oasis. The staff is incredible, they are friendly, helpful and welcoming. We became fast friends with our bartenders Desmond and Mike, who took care of us as if we were their "regulars".
The weather was nearly perfect, just a few short storms that did not really prevent us from our activities. A nice touch is that there are umbrellas placed strategically around the resort, so you are never at risk for a unexpected downpour.

Dear gmarcello,

Thank you for the great review. We strive to provide a welcoming, home-away-from-home environment and are glad Desmond, Mike and our team made this happen. Since you enjoyed spending time at our beach bar, hopefully you tried the food as well, while relaxing on the white sand. The fish tacos will satisfy your seafood craving – grilled tilapia with lime crema, mango chutney, cilantro, tomato salsa and coleslaw. Paired with an island cocktail, they make the perfect beach snack! We hope you head back to paradise soon.

Sincerely,
