We've just returned from two weeks on Grand Turk. We'd read great reviews about this restaurant and we'd anticipated multiple visits while on the island. So, we went for dinner early on in our stay, and, as it turned out, never went back again.
We had dinner on one of the international nights - British, specifically. However, the entire menu was available and we had a good look at everything on offer. I had fish and chips and my partner had the beef and mushroom with Guinness pie. The food was fine. Our server, however, had only thinly veiled disdain for us the entire evening. It was enough to tip the scales for us to not get around to returning, which I would like to have done,if just for the sake of writing a better review. It can be said we could have ordered better than we did, but, it wasn't really the food that was the problem.
The food on the island is quite good overall. And, *everything* on the island is expensive (owing to the 30-40% excise tax). So, none of the restaurants are cheap. Accordingly, The Bohio restaurant is at the very top end of prices available. It simply can not afford to have a server with cynical, tourist burnout - as understandable and human as it may be.....Sorry Bohio. Maybe next time.
