“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2009

I swam today in the Nylon Pool at Buccoo Reef in Tobago and truly experienced sheer bliss and joy. I have traveled all over but never in my life have I been so relaxed and excited as when I was in the Nylon Pool. It was literally like a swimming pool in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. We scooped up sand to rub on our bodies while swimming...it was like being at the spa.

“Picture Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2009

Nylon Pool is located just off Pigeon Point Beach. At Pigeon Point you can catch a glass bottom boat that will take you out to the Nylon Pool.

The guys soliciting the trip tend to seem buggish at first, but they are nice guys and not sketchy at all. They know they can provide a very nice boat ride to visitors on their island and take it upon themselves to share that with the beachers. Many people get frustrated with them and are not willing to hear about the GlassBottomed boats. (Thank you tripadvisor for the providing me with info about the Nylon Pool prior to my trip. I knew exactly what the guys were talking about and was eager for the trip. Don't regret it one bit) The boat Captains are frienldy, funny, and provide various facts about the island and pools.

This whole area is BEAUTIFUL. You can see the various depths of the water, MOST of the water being very shallow.

Typically, on your trip to the Nylon Pool, you will stop at the Buccoo Reef and snorkel ...and then you can get off the boat and swim in the Nylon Pool. Come prepared with an underwater camera.

Our boat ride was about an hour and a half and was 15$ a person. Well worth it!

“Wow Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2008

It was so amazing to be out in the middle of the ocean and arrive at a place called nylon pool where the water comes up to your neck you are able to walk in the sea look around and be amazed I hope to get back to Tobago one day soon. Trully amazing considering I am not a lover of the ocean. On this particular day we did a boat trip around visiting various places, did some fishing where my friend caught a fish which we later had at the bar-b-q.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2007

The fact remains that it can only be a work of nature to go out into the ocean which in some places are 1000's of ft deep and then arrive to an area where the water is 3 to 3 1/2 ft deep and be able to swim and touch the bottom of the ocean ; loveley clean blue, calm waters for all to frolic in; the experience was amazing.

“Buccoo Reef & Nylon Pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2005

The Nylon Pool is an offshore sandbar, a still lagoon which forms a natural, metre-deep swimming pool in the middle of the sea. With the deep ocean on one side and palm fringed beaches on the other, the still, shallow waters and soft clean sand provide a wonderfully uplifting sybaritic bath.

It is right next to what is dubbed one of the most beautiful places in the caribbean... Bucco Reef. This magnificent, if somewhat endangered, labyrinth of coral comprises 40 differing and often multi-coloured species and covers more than twelve square metres of the Caribbean sea bed between Pigeon Point and Buccoo Bay. It is the natural feeding ground for a whole variety of brilliantly coloured tropical fish including trigger, butterfly, surgeon and parrot.

Excursions in glass bottomed boats leave regularly from Store Bay, Pigeon Point and Buccoo and include a trip across the deep water gardens, an opportunity to snorkel with the fishes and a dip in the Nylon Pool.
