“Worth a trip but not spectacular”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013 via mobile

The nylon pool is about a mile out and a patch of ocean that's about a meter deep - we took a trip via buccoo reef from store bay (tickets bought from a cabana by the beach for $60TT). We went out with our 12month old who loved the calm waters and it was a fun trip, but didn't seem as spectacular as had been made out. Lots of people used the sand there for a bit of exfoliation and apparently if you kiss under water it takes 10 years off...!

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

Wow! Fantastic. We were on a small power boat (8 of us) plus Ricky the captain, Hans (our tour guide) and Ricky's nephew. It is surreal to be taken several miles out to sea, to sea the choppy waves around you and the land in the distance and then to be able to jump off the boat and stand (yes, your feet touch the sandy seabed!) in warm, crystal clear, calm waters. Totally wonderful feeling. Shame about some of the larger tour bouts carrying hundreds of people, with loud pop music blasting out from their stereo systems ... maybe I am getting too old, but this rather spoiled the moment! Just made us glad we had a boat of our own without the terrible music!! A beautiful place - only reachable by boat!!

“One Place You Should Not Miss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

On entering Store Bay you are approached by young men selling tickets. The cost is $60 TT.
We travelled on the boat Island Vibes. The boat has two levels and a small restroom. There was music and free cups of sodas upon request. The captain of the vessel was friendly and amusing.

The first part of the tour was snorkelling, followed by an explanation of the types of corals and fishes in the reef (as viewed through the glass bottom area of the boat) and then finally the beautiful nylon pool.
The nylon pool in itself is just as spectacular as all of Tobago's lovely emerald beaches... but it was the entire experience connected with the nylon pool, and the remarkable feeling that you're standing "in the middle of the ocean" that makes it a cut above the rest. Great fun.

“Nature's Wonder; Nature's Creation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

My family is from Trinidad and so I visit the country at least twice a year. However, I had never been to Tobago before. At the end of Jan. 2012, my aunt asked me to take a run down to Trinidad with her because she had some business to handle. She also said she would make it priority that we head over to Tobago, as she hadn't been there in over 30 years since she was 18. I was ECSTATIC because I had watched countless videos on youtube of Tobago: the beaches, the reef, glass bottom boats, nylon pool etc.

After spending two days in Trinidad, we hopped on the boat to Tobago (something we both vowed to never do again, because we both got sea sickness on parts of the two hour ride). During our first full day in Tobago we hit the beach and took a glass bottom boat to the Nylon Pool! To be able to stand up in water in the MIDDLE of the island was INCREDIBLE! The clear, warm water felt so good. I didn't ever want to leave. The locals also told us that there is a myth on the island that if you rub the sand/coral all over your skin it makes yoy look and feel 10 years younger. Everyone rubbed it all over themselves. One woman tried to put some in a bag to take home with her (hahaha)!

Along with eating Curry crab and dumpling, this is a MUST for anyone who comes to Tobago!

P.S. I hear that this place can get pretty crowded some try to come in the off-season like we did.

“Not THAT spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Nylon Pool is just a crystalline sand bar with shallow, clear water with nothing to much see other than a few holes in the sand. Nice to just relax in the warm waters but nothing much else.
