Calypso Beach Hotel closed a number of years ago but the property has a new owner (as of 1999?) who has spent the last 2 years renovating (and is continuing to make improvements). This hotel, located on the small island of Gasparee (also known as Gaspar Grande) off the northwest tip of Trinidad, is now reopened as Bayview Beach Resort and Marina. I believe it's the only hotel on this tiny island, although there are also a couple of rental villas.
Haven't been there yet, but photos show that they are doing a great job of fixing the place up.
