The Cotton House is probably exactly as everyone imagines it - an old colonial building, manicured lawns, pristine beach ...
Rooms
We stayed in an upper Grenadine suites for just over a week. The room is large & spacious. The *really* good points are :
- 2 showers ( one over bath )
- 2 WC's
- Loads of towels ( inc. beach towels )
- The view
- House keeping did a great job kept the room spotless, no matter how hard we tried to mess things up.
The downsides ( and I am being picky ) :
- limited tea / coffee in the room. Seemed a bit stingy not offering complimentary tea / coffee when you're paying ~$1k per night.
- The sofa was starting to look a bit tired / well used.
Food
The beach bar was good for lunch, but watch out for the birds ( they get used to being fed and can be a bit annoying ).
The main restaurant had impecible service - absolutly first class. But, this did feel a bit cold sometimes - it was a lttle *too* formal. The food could sometimes be a bit plain & unispired - I'm sure my wife's curry was from a tin / packet one night. Better food can be found at Firefly.
Breakfasts are great whether served in your room or in the restaurant.
Picnic - we had one on the beach one day. It was fantastic - a good seection of food & drink, kept on ice to keep it fresh & cool. If you're staying here have one !
We didn't use the spa, so I can't comment on it.
The beach was spotless with sun loungers reserved for the guests ( you can pick anyone, you don't have to have the one with *your* room on it ). Drinks service from the bar was quite regular and not at all intrusive.
Would we go again ? Absolutely.
