Perhaps not such an ideal place for those who like their creature comforts and are a bit long in the tooth. eg no comfortable chairs in the cottage and inadequate shaded seating in the garden.

Mango cottage was adequately but simply equipped and is the best situated of the three.

The restaurant, when open , was excellent but never open at lunch time during our stay. This was particularly disconcerting on arrival just before lunch time on a day when it was also shut in the evening. They no longer bake bread for sale to guests.

Our hosts and their staff were friendly and helpful but reactive rather than proactive. Books are available.

It is a delightful spot with good swimming and easy access to the very cheap local buses. A ten minute boat ride from the local boatman takes one to Anse la Roche (snorkelling).

Beaches on Carriacou are excellent and deserted. All dwellings depend on catching rainwater for their supplies hence no large tourist hotels.

We often remember the very friendly and helpful atmophere in Bogles Round House. We spent a few days in the Mango cottage, which was very clean, thoughtfully designed and beautifully decorated. It offers a little kitchen, but due to Roxanne´s culinary skills we never used it.
The access to the beach was easy, but we preferred the white sands of Anse la Roche (less than an hour walk through nearly unspoiled landscape). Nevertheless, relaxing in the comfortable wooden chairs in the garden was a good choice as well until one of the two friendly dogs came to play.
But most of all we liked the meals: Every day started with freshly baked bread and ended with an exceptionally superb dinner, which was created freshly and could be choosen from a list of Roxanne´s imaginative menus. We are not astonished to read that Roxanne was awarded "Grenada´s chef of the year 2006/7". She really deserves the award, and to our opinion (our travel destinations are mostly chosen in respect of special cuisine), not only this one! We wish Roxanne and Phil the best for their marvellous hideaway

Having just returned from vacation in Grenada, West Indies, and spent four fabulous days in Carriacou staying at the lovely Bogles Round House Cottages - Mango Cottage. Arrived on Friday 3rd August - Monday 6th August 2007, to enjoy Regatta.

The Bogles Round House Cottages is a short bus journey away from the town centre of Carriacou, the location is superb as the cottages are located a short distance from the beach, with an idyllic view. Mango Cottage was excellent with everything catered for, you had the option of self-catering or dining at the fantastic restaurant which was always busy. Mango Cottage was very clean with a small kitchen, fridge, dining area, 2 beds, shower and separate toilet facilities and veranda.

Roxanne and Phil were fantastic warm and welcoming hosts and greeted each guest on there arrival and showed you round the cottage.

Would definitely recomend Bogles Round House Cottages, and stay there again in the future. you are able to book on-line, or call them direct, prices very reasonable.

Had an excellent stay well rested and relaxed. There is always lots to see and do around Carriacou, you just have to go out and explore the island.

My girlfriend and I were supposed to have spent a week in Plum cottage and then move to another hotel afterwards for the second week. We took one look at the other hotel and came right back to the roundhouse instead.
The cottages are comfortable and clean and contain everything you need. There is a small fridge and stove so you can provide for yourself but truly with Roxanne being the cook that she is you'll find more often then not you'll be eating in the roundhouse.
Phil and Roxanne were great hosts and we felt at home immediately with them and their two dogs, Albert and Tom.
We ate breakfast every morning outside with a great view of the western waters, Jack Adan island and the Sister Rocks.
As for location, its a 5 minute bus ride to Hillsborough and there is a great beach accessible from just in front of the cottages. If your feeling adventurous, a 40 minute walk will take you through some jungle to Anse La Roche beach which is probably the greatest beach on the island and you'll likely have it all to yourself.

If you do spend some time on Carriacou, be sure to at least drop in for dinner and you'll see what I mean.
