The Friendship bay hotel is located in the finest bay of Bequia in my humble opinion.
The panorama shows the islands like "whale station". "Isle de quatre". Pigeons Rock" etc. The light in this Bay is of great clarity and gives you a nice feeling.
The hotel consists of a numer of small houses near the waterfront. These oceanvieuw-rooms have a good A/C and are nicely decorated. Of course one can always make some remarks regarding the fit of doors etc. The rooms are clean and They all have a nice terrace to sit on.
The other part of the hotel is a higher building in which the breakfastroom and a reading/relaxing storie are located. Via a stairway you reach the rooms on top which have a great view over the bay. The wind is stronger and more refreshing at that height compared to the rooms near the sea.
The toprooms have no A/C. and are suited for people who are not bathered by a fan or an open window or the sounds of nature.
The restaurant is located near the beach. The paths to the restaurant and bar are wellpaved and surrounded by a beautiful garden.
The food is very good and often great. The cocktails are great too.
Above all the best thing about Friendship Bay Hotel is the friendly atmosphere which makes you feel like a king in his castle.
People from around the world come for lunch or dinner. Some come from the boats that anchor in the bay others from a cruiser in the mainport and again others are locals or guests from other hotels. The kitchen of Friendship Bay Hotel is wellknown!
And on top of all Secony , the guitar man, comes along to make things even more perfect.

We stayed for 3 nights from the 12th April.

We had booked an ocean view room and when we arrived we were initially put off by having to lug our heavy bags up several flights of stairs and corridors. Our ocean view room was in the main building and we were instantly disappointed when we saw it. It was poorly decorated and was baking hot. There was no A/C but a large whirring, wobbling fan above the bed. The room was small and not what we were expecting. The next day we asked if w could move to one of the little cottages along the sea front. The cottage cost more and is described an an Ocean Front room. It is defintely worth it though. The cottage had A/C and a mosquito net over the bed! It had a lovely little patio with sun loungers and was so much more pleasant than our first room. It was more modern and less tatty than the other. Bequia is a great island. Do take time to visit the turtle sanctuary - well worth a visit. I would advise hiring a cab to eat in the main town as there are plenty of good places to choose from. I must say we found the barman at frienship bay far from friendly which was a shame as the islanders were very welcoming.

My husband and I stayed at Friendship Bay for several days early in the season a couple of years ago.. They were more than friendly and we enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet, comfortable and simple existance for two over-worked, over-tired folk. I still think about it with pleasure and hope to return sometime soon. I hope Hurricane Ivan didn't do too much damage to them.

My husband and I had a terriffic honeymoon experience at Friendship Bay Hotel. We booked over the internet so were unsure of the island and hotel before we arrived. We hit the jackpot on both counts. Bequia is the best caribbean destination we have ever been to. The hotel was fantastic, right on the beach. It had the best restaurant on the island and some of the friendliest staff. They really took care of us nothing was too much trouble. The room was very comfortable with lots of great touches you can tell they take great care and pride in their hotel. The swinging chairs at the bar were the coolest, as were the banana coladas!! We'll be back. I would recomend both Bequia and the Friendship Bay Hotel to every one :)
