“Total Relaxation at Buccament Bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Just got back from an amazing trip to Buccament Bay. Stayed a week in a garden villa with its own plunge pool – we didn’t use this much because we spent most of our days around the main pool with its beautiful views! The mountainous surroundings were picture perfect.

Room

Our room was lovely, was made up every morning and were also offered a turndown service although we didn’t take this up (or need anything) because we were out the room quite late in the evenings. The room had everything we needed plus air con for the bedroom, hairdryer, iron, UK plug sockets and TV. Our kingsize bed was a zipline style – fine with us because we get our own space :)

We were just a stroll to all the restaurants but if you’re feeling a bit lazy (or too full!) they’ll take you on a buggy.

Food

Probably one of the best all inclusive holidays we’ve been to. We were impressed with the selection of drinks although I stuck to a lot of prosecco and pinot noir! Jacks was our favourite evening restaurant – the steaks were delicious.

Breakfast was buffet style although there was an egg and fruit station and we had an omelette and smoothie every day.

Lunch was either from the menu, buffet or on the BBQ - always good though. Not much snacks although there’s a shop which has cakes and ice-cream (all inclusive of course) and we were constantly full this holiday!

Activities

We brought our gym kit with the full intention of getting involved in the personal training, tennis and gym sessions. But we only made it to the pool, bar and spa.

We did go to the gym on our last day – it had a good number of machines and weights if you can drag yourselves there!

Spa

I had a Swedish massage which was very relaxing. All my clicks and knots were banished! Would definitely recommend.

Trips

We did the trip to Wallilabou & Darkview Falls. It was nice driving around people watching, but at Wallilabou there’s not much left from Pirates of the Carribean films. The waterfall was nice, we didn’t stay for long though because of the rain – remember to bring a change of clothes if you go!

We also did the complimentary sunset cruise, it was nice being on the water and having a rum punch. No dolphins came to say hello though :(

Everyone is so friendly in St. Vincent which will also make this holiday memorable!

St Vincent was the second part of our honeymoon and we spent a fantastic week here. We were staying in one of the Garden Villas with our own plunge pool, decking, sunbeds and small sanded area. We were greeted by Sharon off of our transfer and then met by our lifestyle rep Francesca. She explained about the resort and showed us to our room whilst we sipped a refreshing cocktail. The pool areas look stunning, 2 infinity pools overlooking the amazing beach area. Food was great, look out for Chef Murphy on the Grill and good luck in trying to get his Gran's recipe off of him, watch out for the laugh! Very infectious!
Keon was our main man at the pool bar and from the very first morning he ensured our sunbeds were ready and bought us over some ice cold water. Throughout the day he would make sure we were OK for drinks and I only had to look at him and he was already making my cocktail, brilliant service. Leon was also looking after us around the pool and will always let you know when he is 'in the house!' Fadal was also great around the pool, always letting us know about the weather and making sure we were ok.

Jacks was a personal highlight and we had Filet Mignon which was the best steak I have had in a long time. There was also a local pianist playing and singing throughout the meal who was brilliant and had most of the restaurant up and dancing by the end of the meal.

All in all a great week and we cannot wait to go back again!

I have stayed in many luxury hotels across the world and the levels of service is second to none. The beach is great with a man made reef that has loads of fish on it so great for snorkeling. The food and cocktails are great and you never need anything as its already there before you want it.

I will be back!

I cannot recommend Buccament Bay Resort enough. From the minute we set foot on the resort, we felt so welcome. The staff are what make this paradise resort what it is today. Lionel "made it happen", Ashantie did everything with a beautiful smile and Carlson was professional to a fault and made us all feel so relaxed. It was just a complete pleasure to be there. While my fiancée, Tracie and I were at the resort, we had a chat with Sharon about the possibility of getting married on the beach. Sharon made everything so easy, nothing was any trouble and with her partner in crime, Gennine, made everything so easy for us that we did exactly that and got married on November 1st 2013. Sharon and Gennine went over and above what we had agreed and made it such a perfect day. They even managed between them to organise a little sunshine (though how they did that, I will never know). Thank you so much to everyone who made Tracie, Christie and I feel like part of the family. You are all exceptional. Thank you so very much. Jez, Tracie and Christie x

Beautiful resort with Golden sand (All imported!). Don't be put off by the rather depressing approach. The resort is situated in a valley between two wooded mountains and is immaculate. All accommodation is in air conditioned villas most of which have a plunge pool. If you want a plunge pool make sure you request it. There is a hotel being built on the resort but at the time of our visit (May 2013) all work had stopped on construction due to the economic climate.

Although the resort is beautiful there seems to be a cartel operating to make exploration of the island expensive. A half day coach trip is $125.00 and taxis charge a high rate per person. Car hire also seems very expensive - perhaps pre-booking might be a better bet.

The food is excellent although it could be expensive if you are not on an all inclusive basis for example a lunch for two could be $180.00 plus gratuities and a bottle of wine $135. Service is great but make sure you get what you ordered as substitutions are common. The menu seems to be aimed at the North American market and although good can be a bit repetitive.

There are two beautiful swimming pools and plenty of loungers.

Caribbean music in the dinning areas can be a little overpowering at times.

Overall a great place to relax in luxury

Room Tip: If you want a plunge pool make sure you request it as some of the later built rooms do not have them...

Most impressed with this upmarket hotel. It comprises over 150 villas in a village setting. each with their own plunge pool, with four restaurants to choose from; two swimming pools and a variety of sporting offers for younger visitors (inc tennis, football, cricket) It's alongside a beautiful tropical beach.
All-inclusive food and drinks were excellent in quality and variety.
Location is 20-30 minutes from Kingstown (the island capital) which can be reached (excitingly) by local minibus and adjacent to a local village.

Room Tip: More expensive villas on sea shore are also less private.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere When my wife and I got to the resort and the welcome we got to the villa with excellent facilities were just a dream come true. Clearly the best resort we have stayed so far. The sea, sand and hospitality was truly outstanding.Picture postcard perfect.
We recommend that if someone has been around the world must not miss this place.
