4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

My wife and I have just returned from two weeks in Buccament Bay . Beautiful place with some wonderful staff . Problems started on the first night when we were both eaten alive by Mosquitos over a hundred bites between us. We have travelled extensively and this was the first time we have been bitten so bad. Now to be fair to the staff they got us fresh aloe to help with the bites but it took a chance conversation with a waiter who got us Mosquito Spirals (we paid for these 5 US dollars ) which is an incense that we burnt in the room at night. Only one or two bites the rest of the fortnight. We later found out these spirals are kept at the reception and are given out if asked for. Why were these not offered as part of the facilities as the resort has a mosquito problem ?. Although low occupancy there was a lot of people with bites. Now the resort is beautiful and we had a really relaxing holiday . Food is good but after a fortnight can be a bit repetitive however this is the case in most resorts . Only two restaurants were open apart from the breakfast area and the bay beach club were the problem is even at night they use plastic glasses, not 5*. Jacks and Safran open a couple nights each a week each and the food is of a higher standard although the piano player needs to be turned down a bit so people don't have to shout to place an order . We sat outside to eat in Jacks on our further visits and a far more pleasant experience was had. The Staff at the resort on the whole are top notch easy to get on with and all appear fairly genuine . Lionel at the pool is an absolute star and Keon , Danielle ,Vadol to name a few are also very good.
Villas and Plunge pools and housekeeping all top notch and they keep the gardens and surrounding area very clean and tidy. The pool and beach area beautiful and spotlessly clean and although the beach is used by the local community at no time did we feel nervous or concerned. Coffee shop and ice cream parlour superb and their Mango smoothie is a joy to behold. All premium brands of spirits on offer and the local beer is fairly good .
If you are looking for a quiet , relaxing holiday and aren't to stressed about timekeeping this is the place for you . Wouldn't be sure how they would cope with a full resort as there were only 30 people on holiday when we were there and at times they just seemed to be coping. I know they had split shifts so maybe with full staffing levels this wouldn't be a problem . All in all very very good but not 5* yet . No issues with our transfers although Liat the local airline are a bit disorganised and need a good shake up.

Room Tip: Plunge pool villas are worth the little extra. Beach villas also seemed to be worth trying.

Stellar staff at this right. Management had reached the perfect balance: staff truly makes you feel welcome. Feels more like a 5 star.
Only 2 restaurants open but we did not mind repeat visits.
Building well maintained and very very clean. Private pools ideal. Maxwell was great

Just got back from buccament, it was recommended by our travel agent so I didn't even bother checking trip advisor before going. All I can say is I'm glad I just went with the recommendation as the place is beautiful. I was shocked to see terrible poor or even average reviews on trip advisor as this place in no way deserves such harsh criticism.
If you want stunning scenery, relaxed atmosphere and luxury then this place is perfect.
The best thing about the resort is the staff, they are extremely friendly, good fun, helpful and attentive. Carlson, brod, Keon and maxwell were just a few of the many staff who made our holiday extra special. When the staff discovered we were actually on honeymoon they upgraded us to a villa with a plunge pool, however all rooms are suitably equipped to ensure maximum comfort.
We made good use of the resort bikes, the latest gym equipment and had an excursion to the dark view falls arranged by the resort.
If there was one thing I'd change, I'd have liked to see an authentic 'cook up' on the BBQ grill and a little more spice in the menu.
I would defiantly recommend this resort.

This is my second visit (the only hotel i have e er gone back to)to the resort in 2 years. I highly reccomend the resort and have no complaints to report.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the food is great and the facilities are good. The quality of the build is second to none.

I have stayed at many other 5 star resorts around the world that do not come close to this one.

The sunset cruise is a great way to spend a few hours in the evening and you may even get lucky and see some dolphins. I have done this cruise twice and have seen pods of dolphins. I also visited Dark View Falls and reccomend this. It's a great way to see island life and have a dip in a waterfall. We were lucky enough to be in a smaller party so walked up to the second higher 'fall.

If you get the opportunity to visit Mustique while you are here I also reccomend this, a beautiful tranquil island.

I will be back for a third visit in the near future.

We had a really good time - the staff on the resort are amazing and the dive team are fantastic! We had some amazing dives and the snorkeling is actually very good when you venture out. The boys from the dive team are so helpful. We shared some great games of beach tennis when we were not being put through our paces by the brilliant Lucas and Jo.
We were very impressed with their new lifestyle section on resort - Life is for living. Full-time from October. We have been to the body holiday in previous years, but this was just so much more personalised. We took full advantage of the group sessions everyday and they even treated us to our tailor-made supplement consultation. I was advised on what vits to take and what food to eat. I even found myself cutting down on the wine in the evening! Well it did work, as I have now gone back to the gym at home and feel and look so much better than I usually do when I get back from a great holiday!

I agree with most of the other reviews but the one thing that spoilt it for us - (I have seen the other review from Leatherhead mentioning the same thing). The son of the owner shouting at one of the chefs when we were having our meal. It was very unprofessional. The staff and chefs are the best thing about the place. So not the best way forward. In fact why were the son's children allowed to run riot in the place? arguing with paying customer's children and even spotted punching another child. But this is to be expected from the children if they follow in their parents steps. Shouting across the pool at the children by the mother and stomping off was made very public to us all. We don't have children so maybe this is the norm?? Im sure this was just a one off!? With that said we will be coming back (out of school hols) as we loved the variety of activities from the new fitness company.

Please make a few adjustments, try to keep the kidi things to one section as at times it looked like a creche - bouncy castle etc.... In fear of being known as a child resort I think. A real shame because there is so much potential as the lifestyle just puts them a peg above other resorts. Watch out BH! (if BB can appeal to the masses of adults wanting this type of fitness holiday) Thank you we loved it. x

Room Tip: Our room was fantastic! We loved it.

Myself and my wife visited in April 2013. Really nice resort and surprisingly easy to get to via BGI.
We booked direct and the hotel arranged our transfers and flights from BGI including lounge access whilst we waited for our liat flight. The biggest plus was the food, jacks restaurant was excellent( great fillet steaks) our room was lovely and we could walk straight out onto the beach past our plunge pool . Customer service was excellent and we left feeling we had spent our money well , snorkelling off the beach is really good recommended.
